Question about 1997 Pontiac Grand Am
I have a 97 pontiac grand am and at 90 klms an hour the trans wants to shift back it to drive from overdrive. going up a hill it is worse at all speeds like it cant make up its mind. the tranmission feels very rough when it does this. any answers for this problem? a trans temp sensor? or a shifting soloinoid?
Check the transmission fluid. Also place a paper towel and drop a fewdrops of fluid.if the fluid is good it will spread and will be a red or brownish red color. if it is dark and hardly spreads, then change the fluid. But it could be a temp sensor or shifting solenoid also. check the filter also by removing the pan if the other solutions don't work.
