2002 kia sportage electric windows

The electric windows no longer work. they stopped then started working again, but now they're dead. I checked the fuses. One window is down, the rest are up, and the rainy season is coming. What should I check first?

I have a 2001 Kia carnival (sedona) and I have had intermitant issues with the power windows the drivers and passenger window. Today I took the switch apart and discovered that the drivers side switch had corroded/shorted out and now I need a new one. Where do I get one?

I went to put my driver's side window up and it started to go up then all of a sudden fell down into the door. I can hear the motor running, but sounds like some grinding. window will not go up or down.

I have a 2001 Kia Sportage-power windows have stopped working, all in the up position. Fuses are ok in both locations. Could there be a relay somewhere? Kia parts dept said the driver's side control box was not likely the problem as the other windows did not function on their control switch.

Hi i had the same problem with my windows in my kia.Im going to give you some simple things to do.First open you driver side door.On the inside of the door(WHERE THE DOOR ARM IS) its a thick like rubber stuff covering the wires.Cut the rubber stuff off and pull the wires from the carside not the door until tHe main plug come out(ITS TWO)(ONE FOR LOCKS AND ONE FOR WINDOWS).Take both loose one at a time and blow in them.I figure that out with mines that a bunch of dust and stuff got into the plug and short it out.And make sure when youre done use black tape to cover the wires back to protect it from doing it again.Hope this helps

If both windows are not working, have a look at the driver's switch.  Both windows obtain power from there and there is usually a lockout for passenger units there.  You'll likely find a loose wire or corrosion.

I would scope the wires and test them for voltage. Try to find which one is bad. Did you notice if there were burned wires around the fuse housing?

My 2002 kia sportage window is down and it makes a noise when I try to put in up but it will not move, they are electrical windows

I would guess your window regulator has broken. You most likely here the motor and regulator components running but the glass is no longer attached to the regulator. You will have to remove the inside door panel and visually inspect the regulator assembly to determine what needs to be replaced.

I had the same problem and in my case it was a short in the ignition. If I wiggled the key, the accessories came back on.

Check your fuses in the engine bay as you may have shorted them out when you washed the engine.

Check the fuses. There is a good chance you might have blown one or a few if you some how didnt connect the jumper correctly which would explain some of the accessories not working.
