Question about 2001 Kia Sportage
The electric windows no longer work. they stopped then started working again, but now they're dead. I checked the fuses. One window is down, the rest are up, and the rainy season is coming. What should I check first?
Hi i had the same problem with my windows in my kia.Im going to give you some simple things to do.First open you driver side door.On the inside of the door(WHERE THE DOOR ARM IS) its a thick like rubber stuff covering the wires.Cut the rubber stuff off and pull the wires from the carside not the door until tHe main plug come out(ITS TWO)(ONE FOR LOCKS AND ONE FOR WINDOWS).Take both loose one at a time and blow in them.I figure that out with mines that a bunch of dust and stuff got into the plug and short it out.And make sure when youre done use black tape to cover the wires back to protect it from doing it again.Hope this helps

If both windows are not working, have a look at the driver's switch. Both windows obtain power from there and there is usually a lockout for passenger units there. You'll likely find a loose wire or corrosion.
