Question about 2004 Land Rover FreeLander

Freelander v6 es 2001

Hi i have just driven back from leicester in very heavy rain,i have been cruising for about 70mph no problem,but when i have kicked down and pressed accelerator,i get the noise of the power but i don`t go any faster?also tried this going slow with tiptronic,dropped a gear to 3rd and floored it engine light came on and i did not gain any speed?any ides,oh yeh when i let the throrttle up the engine light went out?

This could be a throttle position sensor get plugged in after market parts to replace about £25

check to make sure you don't have a vacuum leak to the cruise system. sounds like it is loosing vacuum and taking a while to build up.

Dash lights, that indicate which gear you're in, don't come on


One or more of your fuses are cut off. Try checking your underdash fuse box.

there isnt any easier work , these are a burden of my life lol , the manifold is not to bad to remove , take your time when refitting and make sure you dont over tighten manifold bolts

Steering goes sideways


Hi, You need to be checking the track rod end, the bottom ball joint and bush, the wheel bearing, and the shock absorber, all on the left hand side. You could take it to have the tracking checked and they may notice something whilst checking it if you mention it to them. Cheers.
