Question about 1991 Chevrolet S-10 Blazer

1 Answer

1991 Chevrolet S-10 Blazer starts but won't run for long.

1991 Blazer 3.4, it will start and run for a minute sometimes and other times it will continue to run, other times it will just shut off and may resart after a dozen or so attempts. I cleanened the EGR and relaced the fuel pump and filter. Also replace the O2 sensor. Any help out there?
Thanks, Dave

Why won't my truck run?

check for vacuum leaks . Check for power valve operation . check for choke closing on acceleration. Check timing. Check for coil failing or condenser in distributor failing I would replace the condenser first as it will allow the engine to start but fails at revs.

it is possible the converter is plugged, you might need to just take it in and have a backpressure test run, possibly a fuel pressure test as well

Have a '94 S-10 Blazer Tahoe 4X4 and it starts

My suspicion is a starter going bad. Sometimes when starters get old and worn they will start good when the engine is cold but not when the engine is warmed up. Did you perhaps notice that lately is seemed to drag when you tried starting, especially warm or it seemed to crank a little slower? I'd replace the starter. Hope this helps.

sounds to me like water may have possibly gotten into the engine spark plug areas and are preventing the engine from sparking.
