Either you have the wrong key,or try turning the steering wheel to the right all the way, then turn key, this usually happens when you park the vehicle and the wheels are turned, then the steering wheel locks hard

My steering wheel on my volvo locked and now the key won't turn xc90 2006

Try pulling the wheel in both directions, one at a time, and turning the key while you do it. I believe the steering wheel lock is exerting pressure on your ignition system (where the key is). You should feel (& possibly hear) it when the lock releases enough pressure to let you turn the key.

Unable to turn the key in ignition...a little play in steering wheel, but key refuses to turn

Trying smacking the shifter hard to the park position which it is already. There is a lock that stops the ignition from unlocking if the gear selector not getting into the P position all the way.

I have had trouble starting my Chevy blazer 2001, before it would feel like the ignition would get stuck, now the key won't turn either way and the steering wheel is locked and I can't turn it on

Try turning the steering wheel hard in each direction while trying to turn key. Wheel lock may be holding key. If not, sounds like you need to replace ignition lock cylinder or the ignition switch. Good luck, DW

Locked ignition steering wheel locked

Some of these cars had a button under the steering column that you could push to release the locked wheel. Feel under the steering wheel and column going from the end of the wheel towards the dash and see if there is button on the underside that you can push.
Good luck.

What can cause wheel to lock but when u place the key inside the ignition its not unlocking the wheel it still in the lock mode

I think from what you are saying the wheels are turned enough that they are putting load on the steering wheel. When you get ready to turn the key on - turn steering wheel left or right a little (you will feel which way is hard against lock) enough to get load off lock with your arm strength and then the key should turn fine. This can happen when you parked on hill or had wheel turned when shutting down car.

How do I get my ignition unlocked so I can turn my key

Your steering wheel lock may have your ignition lock cylinder in a bind. Try to move the steering wheel. If it moved back and forth a couple inches freely, this is not your problem. If it does not move freely, then turn it with moderate force to "feel" where the lock pin is. It will move slightly in both directions. Move the wheel so it is in the center of this small amount of travel and turn the key. It should turn now. If this does not work, then you may have to have your steering column disassembled to have the lock cylinder replaced.

The ignition key will not turn to turn car on? Feels like steering wheel is locked? Any suggestions

This has happend to me before at work. Try using another key or try turning the steering wheel to the left or to the right while you try to turn ignition if this doesn't work your tumblers in ignition may be bad.

When I put the key into the ignition and try to turn it it wont turn. The steering wheel is lock and when I try to move the steering wheel to find the "sweet Spot" to turn the key and start the car the key...

If your are turning the wheel to the "sweet spot" like you said, and you are using the right key, do you have a second key that still won't work? Then ignition lock tumblers are worn. You or dealer has to fix.
