thanks, i spoke to someone else and they said it might be where the car had been sitting for a few months before i bought it and that the heater motor might have packed up, as its not turning the blower intake from cold to hot!!

2002 jeep cherokee 4.7 liter the heat is not coming from any of the vents, lower floor or window duck I was told it would cost about 1200. dollars to fix this and that the entire dash had to come out , it was fixed at the dealers in 2003 and in 2005 a now has once gone again, can I fix this myself or just bypass this some how just to get the flow of heat, it is there but the door will not allow it to come out.

Heat adjuster door fix does not have to cost a lot of money. Search for Heater Treater. I lost dual control functionality but it is way better than the $1800 the dealer wanted to charge me.

Its the heat adjuster doors. It is over 1000 dollars to fix. Basically the temperature nobs on your vehicle are electronically adjusted from cold to hot and they are stuck onb cold. Its a big job, have to take dash off and replace. I had the same problem with mine. but now my blower motor went causing it to fry my heater resister and wiring harnass, another 600 bucks gone!

They figured it was your heater core it might be..i would try to replace the thermostat first..if not then it is the heater core u probably wont get ripped off but 1000 is kinda high for that..

2003 jeep grand cherokee heater problem

Jeep Grand Cherokee is notorious for broken blend-air doors. This is the door inside the A/C-heater housing that switches the air from hot to cold. You must remove the dash to repair it.

When i turn on the heater it doesnt work but the AC cool works Whats wrong with heater?

Your Jeep has a common problem with what they call "Blend Doors", they mix hot and cold air to what the user put it on.

What you have is an "arm" that pulls on a peg to open and close a door, this peg snaps off over time and must be replaced in order for it to work again.

This issue has plagued WJ Jeeps and requires taking must of your dash area apart.

Yahoo, Google and or youtube "Jeep Grand Cherokee blend door repair".

I hope this helped.

It sounds like you blend door is broken. It is about an 8 hour job to tear the dash apart and replace the actuators that control blending of hot and cold air under your dash.

Why would my 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee only blow luke-warm to cold air when the fan is on high? First the heat went on the highest setting, so i used the second highest. Then it started to coll as...

Sounds like you need a blower motor resistor located down under dash on pass side next to blower motor. This is a comon problem and I have changed many of them. thats just the fan speed problem. Ive seen the blend doors break easily on those jeeps. thats inside the heaer core box and moves the flap from hot air to cold air. If it is stuck halfway -or mostly to cold- you may only get luke warm air. If they had the heater core out-maybe they possibly broke it.

I have a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Originally blew only cold air no matter what the heat settings were at. Then blower stopped working. Discovered wires were corroded and replaced them as well installed...

either bad recirc doors or a possible bad heater core. Open the hood and when the car is warmed up to mid point on the temp gauge look on the passenger's side firewall under the hood. You will see 2 black rubber hoses running through the firewall. Feel each hose and if one of the 2 are cold then you have a bad heater core. Otherwise most likely the recirc door.

Heater core 2002 jeep grand cher.

I purchased a Blen Door repair kit. for my 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee after having only cold air blow out of the passenger side for over a year. I found it on EBay. It requires you remove the glove box, cut open the heater box and replace the blend door. I really didn't want to cut that open, however, with the tape that comes with it, I have had no problems with it leaking any air. The dual control no longer works, the temperature is now completely controlled by the drivers side, but to save $1200, I was willing to do this. I have taken the entire thing out before to replace the heater core, didn't want to do it again.

Heater not working

First check the heat control lever from on end to the other. Now this noise really 'sounds' like a mouse has made a nest inside the heater ducts. Or the flip door near the heater fan is out of place. It wouldn't hurt to flush the heater rad. Frankster016
