Check engine light code P2237

My 2005 vw has had the check engine light on for a long time now. i went to get it inspected but it failed, the problem was the sensor P2237 - 02 sensor positive current control circuit/open bank1 sensor 1. does anyone know what this means or how to fix it.

SOURCE: engine service light / 4 codes read description below

P1744 is probably the TC going on the way out. :(

P 340 is probably the sensor itself. Don't get the Dorman one if it is the OHV motor.

P 401 is probably a bad DPF EGR sensor.

SOURCE: i have error codes p0156 p0161

Check the wire harness near the top of the engine in the rear. They were good for rubbing through on the trans fill tube bracket. Judging by the code you have 4 sensors. you would be interested in the drivers side rear sensor.

SOURCE: My car failed an inspection

Even check the coolant sensors. I had a sensor that went bad and it was seeping by the sensor. Another problem can be the plastic coolant flange that goes onto the head. They can crack, especially if the hose has been changed or pressed on while doing other maintenance. If the engine has been overheated the flange can also melt enough to allow coolant to seep out. Sometimes these only leak when the engine is hot and pressure has built up in the cooling system. Try using a web search engine using the codes.

SOURCE: Check engine light on came on in my 2005 VW Jetta

There may be a possiblity of doing damage to the turbo if you continue to drive it this way. I would recommend either taking it to the dealer or a reputable repair shop in your area to have this repaired as soon as possible, as to not risk damaging the turbo. Hope this helps.

Check engine light code p1133 on a chevy colorado 2005

The code means the ECM doesn't like the exhaust mixture coming thru the cat.
It could mean one of the O2 sensors has failed, but could also be caused by a list of other problems with the fuel-air mixture.
If the ECM can't adjust the fuel trim to keep in the range, the cat could be damaged and fail inspection, so the ECM turns the light on and goes into safe mode until the problem is fixed.

2005 optima ckankshaft sensor

2005 optima cranksensor if you are a 2.4 the CKP sensor is located at front of crankshaft, behind the timing belt cover. If your engine is running rough or stalling try shaking the sensor connector to see if it affects engine operation. Inspect the male to female terminal for proper fit. If you are a 2.7 the CKP sensor is mounted on left side of engine block, near the fly wheel. For either engine size if you are cranking the engine and your tach reads zero, you are dealing with a failed CKP.

Had ignition coils replaced. enging light back on. wasd told now i have to replace cat conv. at 102,000, and had a/c replaced, timing belts and all other 105,000 services already! $3,000 later now I...

The cat is the primary part for cleaning up your emissions. Like any bad part on a car if it is not replaced in a timely manner it can lead to other parts going bad, such as the oxygen sensors. It can also negatively effect your gas mileage, because the computer determines fuel off of the oxygen sensors. The check engine light should also be on preventing you from passing inspection(if your area has an emissions inspection).

The coolent light went off. the coolent level is full can this be the fuse? I hve 2005 vw turbo vw bug

Maybe, but the same fuse is used by other systems, and I would suspect other issues to arise, but check it out, I am wrong sometimes, hehe.
The sensor is on the bottom of the over flow. It seals in the coolant with a rubber o-ring. If this goes bad, it will leak coolant out the bottom and ruin the sensor.
The sensor pulls off with a sqeeze. Clean it with a can of electrical cleaner, and inspect for corrossion.
If either doesn't fix it, look for gremlins.
Good Luck!

Engine light wenton, car heated up, car would not

If the engine overheated while driving, damage to the cylinder head gasket or engine block/cylinder head may have been done, which would prevent the vehicle from starting.

A standard engine compression check will tell the tale.

Check engine light on daytime driving light indicator flashing

hi..
first of all it means that u have a problem some where on the suv the only way to find the problem is to hook a diagnostic computer and see what the code is u will have to take the car to a shop who works on isuzu and im sure they can tell u what code it is and whats wrong or u can take the suv to advance auto parts and they can hook there machine to it for free and tell u the code good luck

OK, the best action now would be to scan the ecu for any trouble codes that may be stored at this point with a diagnostic computer. this action will describe the issue concerning the check engine light and, it will also direct you to the location of the failed sensor that may be damaged at this time.

In most cases, this light will illuminate if a vital sensor has failed to register a signal for a short time or, if the sensor circuit is open.

thank u

ABS light-triangle with ! and curved arrow and check engine light

the sensors u had replaced will not affect the ABS brake system, while this light is on your Antilock Brake System is disabled, if u need this very important safety feature u are out of luck, have the system codes tested for the ABS and the check enhgine light, go to a VW dealer, don't waste your time on any technician who says to ignore an ABS light warning!!
