The fan that won't turn off is at the front of the car near the engine radiator .I think it is the A/C fan

thank you, regasing did stop the fan from working when jeep is turned off.

The electric cooling fan by the raiator will not turn off. The mechanic told me it was either the PCM or the Fan Relay- What is the process for me to determine if it is either of those. It just started yesterday. Was a short trip with AC on at the time.

when I shut the car off the fan is still running. I need to disconnect the fuse for it to turn off or my battery dies.

IS IT THE INTERIOR FAN THAT WILL NOT TURN OFF OR THE FAN AT THE FRONT OF THE CAR NEAR THE ENGINE RADIATOR.

You say that the air con is not cold, i think the problem would be the aircon will need regasing, if the gas has escaped from the system, the temperature in the aircon system will always be warm so the fan will continue working attempting to cool it down. It will need checking for leaks, most companies that recharge the system check the whole system for leaks first before refilling the system. If its the engine cooling fan it could be the thermo switch that is faulty, the way to check that is when the engine is cold disconnect the wires from the switch and put an ohms meter across the swith it sould not give any reading, it will only show a reading when the engine reaches operating temparature. hope that helps. regards Richard

What needs to be done to repair my a/c?

I doubt you will find just the button/switch. You could take the switch apart and see if you can fix it. Or you can replace the whole module.

My fan was stuck on low. I looked at the control module in the dash. Some of the contacts had over heated and melted part of the module. Our dealer said it was a $300 fix.

Where is the air conditioner blower fan relay on 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee located?

The blower fan relay is located in the fuse box on the driver's side fender-well. A Jeep Cherokee uses an electric fan as an auxiliary fan for engine cooling and for cooling the air conditioning condenser when the air conditioning is in operation. A radiator temperature-sensing switch that activates the fan relay at 198 degrees F turns the fan on and controls its operation. The temperature drops when the vehicle is in motion and the switch turns the fan off. When the air conditioning system is in operation, the air conditioning relay supplies power to the fan relay via a fan diode downstream from the ignition switch. This diode activates the fan relay and keeps the fan operating as long as the air conditioning is on. Thanks. you can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

Heat/AC Blower fan speed only works on High

Alot of people have the same problem with the fan switch and blown bulbs. There really is no fix for this. Jeep really screwed up when designing the heater control assembly. The cheapest solution is to buy another unit off Ebay. Can always go to the dealer but be ready to PAY for there mistakes.
