It means there is a problem in the carburetor of your car . But if then so you still have to check the accelerator springs and pedal. For there are worn out or destroyed parts then replace them for good .About the carburetor.Prepare the equipment or tools to be used in servicing the carburetor .So that when carburetor will be repaired or serviced no parts will be damage or lost. Locate the carburetor. Disconnect the fuel lines , the accelerator cable and the magnetic jet from the carburetor.Dis -assemble the carburetor.Clean carburetor with carburetor cleaner.Don't forget to observe safety rules. If there are worn out parts or destroyed parts then replace them .But you the owner don't have time to do the job then go to a car shop mechanic and let them do the job.

Are the engine rpms climbing when its jerking forward? seems like it could be a Transmission torque converter problem.
