It would be rather nice to know WHICH ENGINE your sable is equipped with...ESPECIALLY if you are asking for the location of engine components.

3.0L DOHC (VIN code "S") The thermostat housing is located at the engine end of the LOWER radiator hose

3.0L OHV (VIN codes "1", "2", and "U") The thermostat housing is located at the engine end of the UPPER radiator hose.

NOTE: the "VIN code" is the engine identification code and is the 8th digit in your Vehicle Identification Number.

Just follow the upper radiator hose from the radiator to the engine, where is connects to the engine remove the hose and the cover under it to expose the T-Stat. Drain about 1/2 gallon of coolant out before you start work. Bleed the air from the cooling system (refer to service manual for this year and engine type) after the T-Stat is replaced to prevent poss overheating.

Does it have a thermostat

Yes, in fact several, all auto engines do. But I will assume you are talking about the thermostat for your cooling system/antifreeze. The thermostat is easy to find just follow the top radiator hose back to where it connects to the engine. The thermostat will be under that connection.

Hi im trying to find out if my grand prix has a thermostat .not sure if it does i thought maybe it might be built in

all vehicles have thermostats, the location differs from vehicle to vehicle, looking up the information specific to your car will help, using the internet or shop manuals to find the year of car, engine, transmission, and then finding an exploded diagram of your motor will help you find the thermostat on your car, but be careful, some thermostats are very hard to replace
