1984 c 4 corvette automatic 139,000 miles. I didnt drive the car for four months and only started it twice. Now when I take off tranny does not want to shift to second until warmed up or I give it high rpms. Second to third etc all the same. Trans fluid was two pints low( never had a leak ) filled it up,was some what better drove for 45 minutes and trans seem to be fine. Went back out today same deal. Engine idle 54 to 62 tack up and down.up and down. Could this be a vac leak to the modulator on tranny I HOPE. Not sure if it has one to tell the truth. When in gear tranny does not slip just does not want to change gears until warmed up. Have not serviced tranny in ???? who knows.

You may have a loose battery cable or a corroded one, clean as needed. Also listen if you hear a "click" noise from the starter, if so replace the starter the starter solenoid contacts are burnt. I have a 1996 C4 and have had this problem twice now in 80,000 miles, both times it was the starter solenoid (it is rebuild-able). You can buy a new on on eBay for cheap.
