1984 c4 corvette/ trans problem

1984 c 4 corvette automatic 139,000 miles. I didnt drive the car for four months and only started it twice. Now when I take off tranny does not want to shift to second until warmed up or I give it high rpms. Second to third etc all the same. Trans fluid was two pints low( never had a leak ) filled it up,was some what better drove for 45 minutes and trans seem to be fine. Went back out today same deal. Engine idle 54 to 62 tack up and down.up and down. Could this be a vac leak to the modulator on tranny I HOPE. Not sure if it has one to tell the truth. When in gear tranny does not slip just does not want to change gears until warmed up. Have not serviced tranny in ???? who knows.

Fixed it myself. The car sat 4 months and being a 1985 the plates in the tranny were sticking. NAPA has this stuff called LUCAS Transmission Fix. It will do wonders for your Tranny. Cleans and Lubricates Sticking Valves For Proper Shifting. Polymetric film renews worn bands to stop slipping.. Stops hard shifting too. Great styff saved me $$$$$$$$$ in my Corvette. Try it.

1984 c4 corvette rack and pinion

In a nutshell, you disconnect everything attached to it and slide it out the passenger side between the subframe and frame. Obviously, you have to disconnect all of the fluid lines, the tie rod ends on both sides, and the 2 (or 3) bolts that holds it in the car, along with the steering shaft.

1996 Corvette will not start

You may have a loose battery cable or a corroded one, clean as needed. Also listen if you hear a "click" noise from the starter, if so replace the starter the starter solenoid contacts are burnt. I have a 1996 C4 and have had this problem twice now in 80,000 miles, both times it was the starter solenoid (it is rebuild-able). You can buy a new on on eBay for cheap.

Very loud clanging noises started while driving

Try to remove the belt for the ac and see if you still hear the noise, as it sounds like you may have blown the seal or bearing out of the ac compressor , not sure just a guess.
