Question about 2004 Ford Focus

2004 Ford Focus SR Manual Sedan

Went to use my horn today and it won't make a sound. When I press it I can hear a clicking noise coming from the inside passenger side of the car near the glove compartment. Any ideas what the problem might be and how I can fix it?

Where do i locate horn on a 2001 ford focus

Hi there,

If your horn is not working, check the horn relay before anything else. Press the horn actuator on the steering wheel, and have someone listing within the engine compartment for a distinct 'clicking.' If you hear it, then it's working and the horn component itself may be malfunctioning. The horn looks like a square-mouthed snail shell and should be just behind the front bumper skirt on the driver's side. More or less beside the fog light assembly.

Good luck.

Howto replace the horn on my 2003 ford focus fuse is ok relay is also clicking when horn is pressed but no sound

Your horns are behind the grill and can be a chore to get at. Before you dig into that, you know that clicking you hear? Find the box that's clicking - that's your horn relay. Try replacing that first before ripping your grill out.

Horn replacment

look under the dash at the fuse panel and locate the relay for the horn... replace it. quick way to tell which one it is is put your finger on each relay as you press the horn... the one that you can feel clicking is the one to replace.

Have a look at your registration document, it will show you exact engine size, most probably 1796 cc.When people desctribe the engine size, it is generally approximated to the nearest hundred.
So 1796 cc is generally described as being 1800 cc or in litres 1.8 litres.

My horn on a 1998 ford zx2 has stopped working. The fuse is fine.

The horn(s) burn out very easily, also there is a relay, press the horn button repeatedly and listen for a click noise (it may be under hood), if you don't hear it the relay may be at fault, if you do the horn is burned out, not uncommon.
