Do you have two of the tools needed to remove the radio? The tool should be pushed into the holes until it stops then you want to slightly press outward to make the clips pop so the radio can be removed...I have used skinny screwdrivers to accomplish this in the past due to unavailability of tool..most of the time you need to have both sides pressed in at the same time to remove otherwise one side will pop then when you go to other side the previous side will re-lock back in
Yes there is a relay for the ECM system but its not the problem its located inside passanger side under kick panal with the computer module. This is a short in the electrical system its likely the starting motor it may still work but its still shorting Disconnect the negitive battery cable take a mulity meter set it to 20 volts DC touch the red lead to B + red cable on battery and the black lead from the meter to good engine ground block frame where ever you get a solid ground. See if you read voltage if you do you have a short and if its 5 volts or more its likely the starting motor. I have an 85 and have been through this also have factory manuals if you need more help just give me a fax # to send it to pier_j
An 88 F150 on my 85 it was a pisce of cake you do it from the inside on yours ther should be an axsess panal for it passageners side to the middle remove the panal and its right there disconnect the hoses out side and take it out it took my 20 minutes to remove and install last time i did it on that vehicle and 85 s are the sames as 91s so you should have an easy time of it
first remove the screws from inside handle, take off window crank, if you do not have a tool to do this, a clean rag works well. just move the rag back and forth behind handle to knock off handle clip. or you can go to any parts store and buy a clip remover for handle.when all is removed. first put window all the way down, panal pops off. there are clips to hold it on, just use a removal tool or a flat blade to take off panal. when putting handle back on just put clip on handle and push it back on.
there's a tool to do it . but if your real carefull you can do it without it. 1st remove all the screws on doors armrest , then side a flat head screw drive in between door and panal slide it around till you feel the plastic buttons then pry slowly, repeat till you get them all.
