Do you know of a way to test if the fuel pump needs replacing or if it is an electrical issue so the pump is not getting power, or if the distributor is telling the pump it doesn't need to work right now etc?

Car starts but dies when you release the accelerator. It has been implied it could be fuel filter but where is the fuel pump on a 316i??

I have a 1994 BMW 325i and it has a similar problem. When it gets cold it will either not start or will start, but will then bog down and quit and not start a second time. Later when I come back I can smell it is flooded. It has a new super charged battery and the mechanics have failed to figure it out three times. Electronics still work perfect. It just quit again today (temperature 26 degrees) and I would appreciate any ideas. I'm stuck with a mini van until then so PLEASE help!!

Spray some starting fluid into the throttle body. If the ignition system is working properly the car will start and run. While it's running spray more starting fluid into the throttle body little by little and see if you can keep it running. If it does run and stays running this way, your fuel pump is not working properly any more.

You can use a jumper wire from the battery to the power wire to the pump. You should hear the pump turn on or not. Check the fuel pump relay by replacing it with the A/C relay or a relay that has the same pin configuration to see if your relay has gone bad. Does the car run with the starting fluid?

Hey I need urgent help... My 1986 Tpyota Supra's

When you put the key in the door lock cylinder does the key turn freely in both directions on both doors (you should feel some restriction in one or the other direction). On the inside of the car can you manually unlock and if it doesn't does the lever still seem to move like it should. Or are we talking just the power switch.

1995 Oldsmobile Aurora will start sometimes and other times it won't, I replaced the starter and still the same.

If the engine cranks but won't start, the battery and starter are out of the picture.
When it won't start, someone will need to check fuel pressure and for spark at the plugs to proceed.

The rpm going up down when the engine is start

Hi, the rpm going up down means that the solenoid shift within the transmission is gradually wearing out which will start to affect the transmission itself except something urgent is done to rectify the problem. You can as well verify this by visiting any auto zone around you to scan the car ecm. Please replace the shift solenoid as soon as possible so that it won't further damage the transmission.

Cranks up but won't start. Check the fuel pump and it's not that. Was on the free way and it sounded like it was choking then just died, won't start up.

This can be a tough case, You may want to start by having the ECM checked for code first, there are too many things that can cause your engine to just shut down. I would not start by just throwing parts on it; this could be costly!

Have someone scan the vehicle fore codes first!

Good luck.
