I have a 1994 Vauxhall Frontera. The towbar light on the dashboard is permanently lit and last night the indicator lights stayed permanently on when used -they didn't flash. Today, the indicators have now stopped working and the towbar light is still permanently on.

got me thinking here .,,,,in all honesty havent come across this on this model before but i have had it on a renault i think it was and it was caused by a chaffed wire under the bonnet near the power distribution box cant see it being the computer as this would run a feed to the relay not direct to the lights as the ECU is only chips and not many power passing transistors in a car ECU ,no check the wiring loom ,also dodnt these vehicles have a parking light that comes on either side of the car when indicator is put to that side ,could something be wrong with that maybe ,Must say though never heard of a vauxhall passat though ,Were you on night shift when you wrote this
thats a relay thats is not working propperly, must be replaced to fix the problem, just go to your dealiship and ask for a turn indicator relay for your model and ask your part sales man to show you where is located, if not...just follow that click... have fun
