1999 Saab 900 radio reset code

My mother got a 1999 Saab 900 for her birthday and the battery died soon after. Ever since than the radio has not worked when its on it displays a number. If anyone has the reset code for this radio or knows how to reset it she will be very happy.

Thanks.

I am having the same exact problem. The radio turns on, but nothing comes out of the speakers. Did you ever find out how to solve this problem?

Whenever the battery is removed (or car experiences any loss of power) you must type in security code for  radio (this is the case with BMWs and Volvos as well).  Go to any saab dealership and they can remove the radio and get your radio's 4 digit code, they all have one.  Yes, I have done this before ` they didn't charge me and I was in and out in ten minutes.

Need the radio code to reset after battery was disconnected.

Afraid there is no radio code as such....the Saab headunit is paired to the car with Saab Tech 2 software.
A dead battery swap shouldnt lose the radio if it was working before you changed the battery.
Have you checked the fuse for the radio?

You should also post on Saabcentral

When I switch on the radio?cd player in my Saab 900 the screen says "Code 1". What do I do to fix this ?

could be the anti-theft device in the radio. it requires you to put the 4 digit code in to "unlock" the radio for use. This number should have been given to you by the seller -otherwise can be obtained by a previous SAAB dealer. This can happen when the battery is disconnected for a period of time

How to Reset the Check Engine light

Disconnecting the battery for a couple of minutes should clear the check engine light if the problem that tripped it was corrected. You may need to reset your alarm after disconnection your battery and you definitely will need your radio code if it's the original Saab radio.

Radio won't reset. i have the code but nothing ha...

If the wrong code is entered a few times it won't take one at all. Unhook your battery for about an hour and try again.

Need radio code for a 1998 saab 900

The codes are not for the Saab but for the radio.
You need to take the radio to a dealer of that brand of radio. There is not just one brand that can be installed by Saab. a Saab dealer can help, but none of us can, because each radio has its own code. But a dealer has the tools to reset it.

The battery on my 1996 Saab 900 died one day and when I replaced it with a new battery the radio was no longer working. Any ideas? Thanks, Joe G

There is a 4 digit code that you must enter to get the radio working again. You should have a plastic credit card sized card with the 4 digit code printed on it; if you don't have this card and the number is not written down anywhere on the owner's manual then the number should be on the back of the radio itself. When you turn on the radio the info screen should ask you to enter a code.....if you can't find the code in any of the places I listed I believe you can get it from the dealer. Hope this helps!

Have 4 digit code, don't know how to reset it. Saab 900 S 1996

Your radio should say CODE when you tune it on. Type the 4 digit code in using your Radio Preset buttons 1 thru 6. If you type in the wrong code more the 3 times the radio will lock you out for a lengthy amount of time...

Hope that helps

Where do you find the radio code 1994 saab 900

Upon disconnecting the battery the radio will flash code until you enter the code. If you enter the code incorrectly you must either hold the band button down until the word code reappears or leave the key on for one hour until the word code reappears. This procedure depends on the year of the car. If you do not have the radio code and would like to get it you must call your local Saab dealer with the serial number off the top of the radio. Many times radio owners will write the radio code on top of the radio once you have the correct code. Typically the radio code is in the owners pouch and is a small card with the numbers on it.

NOTE: If this helps you, please, please give me a good rating!!

Radio code for 1997 saab 900s

I'm afraid if you don't have the code, you will have to take it to a local dealer or specialist radio store to have it re-coded.

Fortunately, it's not expensive.
