Our 1999 Pontiac Grand Am SE will shut off going down the road.It also has a hard time starting, you have to listen for the fuel pump to get going. Is this the fuel pump?

I agree with psds4. If the security light flashes... Have her turn the Key ON and wait for the security light to go off, this will take about ten minutes (feels like half an hour). This performs a security 'relearn' (reset). The engine should start now. WARNING- This may happen again at anytime when attempting to start the engine. The reset procedure will [almost] always work again, but you have to wait ten minutes.

When you get home get in touch with us if you need instructions for switch replacement OR you wish to permanently bypass the security system (solder in a 2k resistor).

My 97 infinity shut off wile driving and wont start

If the problem is the fuel pump, its not because someone put regular gas in the tank. The only problem that would cause is the computer would have to turn back the spark timing to keep the engine from knocking.
You would check for spark to the plugs and fuel pressure as with any no start issue.

My 2000 a6 wont start, the fuel pump does not run when the key is turned to the on position. I checked the fuse (#28-20A) and its good, I also performed voltage checks at the pump, and ohm ck's on the pump...

I SAY ITS THE FUEL PUMP.CHECK FOR BATTERY VOLTAGE AT BATTERY TERMINAL TO FUEL PUMP.CHECK TERMINALS 1 AND 4 FOR POWER.IF POWER GOING TO TERMINALS 1 AND 4. I SAY FUEL PUMP BAD.

Diesel ford will crank but wont start acts like

If you have the 6.0 ltr diesel, then check the bowl where the 2nd fuel filter is, see if there is fuel in the bowl, if not then either your fuel pump which is on the frame under the driver's side in the water seperator/ heater has gone bad, or your filters could be bad, or the fuse to the fuel pump or the pump shut off switch which is located on the side panel at your feet on the passengers side, there is a reset button, make sure it has not popped and press it down, hopefully this helps, I had the same prob.

88 ford f150 inline 6 wont start...

check to see that you have fuel all the way to the engine.to do this: pull the fuel pump fuse and, crank the engine a few times to releive pressure then open the fuel line, cover it with a rag for safety then: replace the fuse and, crank the engine just for a second or, two if no fuel comes out it's another fuel filter probably on the truck frame rail that is the problem or, low pressure from the fuel pump

91 integra not starting

Hi,welcome to fix ya. this could be caused by the main (PGMFI) relay under the dash it controlls the fuelpump . There is a circuit board inside it that cracks and causes the fuel pump to shut off,

Probably, also, if it's an electric, check to make sure the pump is actually getting power. The wires may have gone bad.
