Question about 1983 Jeep CJ5

The headlights on my 1976 Jeep CJ5 quit working

They were working fine one day, and the next time I went to use them they didn't work. Parking lights work fine

I' have seen 2 headlights go out at the same time. Pull the plag on one light and see if have 12 volts with the switch on. If you have voltage then your headlight is bad. If you do not have voltage then there could be a bad switch or wiring problem.

Replace the switch. The low beam side of the switch isn't making a connection.

My headlights work but i have no parking lights or inside guage lights. it went out the other day and i cant find the problem.


more likely headlight switch has gone bad try switching from low beam to high see if this makes any diff if not its the switch

In am replacing the wheel cylinders and brake shoes on a 1973 jeep cj5. everything went fine except the last wheel. with the adjuster all the way closed, the drum will still not fit over the shoe on the...


You can't have everything in the correct position or the drum would mount. Take a good look again. "Make sure" each part is correctly positioned and make sure the adjustment wheel is correct and that the parking brake is not engaged..

Most likely the dimmer switch is bad. It's a very common Jeep problem. If that's not it I would check the grounds to make sure they are good.
