if you have any ideas on what could have happened please let me know
Check your fuses under the hood. There is a fuse labeled IGN if that doesn't work just go threw all your fuses and make sure they all work sometimes when they plug the tester in it can short out fuses. let me know how it goes

My 2007 chevy cobalt didn't start one day. I turned the key, and it didn't turn over the starter at all. I decided to try swapping the rear defrost relay out with the starter relay out, and the car started right up. I then went to advance auto and brought a new relay and stuck it back in the starter relay, and then put back the old one back in the rear defroster position. Sometimes, it's the smallest things the prevent the newer cars from working.

Mine did a similliar thing. Are they standards? If it was working fine before, and when you try to start it now all of the lights and indicators and everything comes on, but when you turn the key to start, it does not turn over at all? On mine, the Neutral Safety Switch had gone out. With the first car it's possible when they tugged on the wiring harness that they pulled the plug loose on the switch. Under the dash, when the clutch is all the way down, it hits a little white push button. On the back side of it, try un plugging and re-plugging the wire in to it. If that doesn't work, try making a jumper from a short peice of wire and using it to bridge across the contacts on the plug, then try the starter (Be sure you're in neutral and try to hold the clutch down at the same time)
