Question about 1996 Ford Taurus

1 Answer

1996 Ford Taurus GL with no spark I replaced ignition coil kit but it did not fix. Battery is fine and engine cranks over fine. What else can prevent spark if everything seems to have power?

I located the crank shaft position sensor just above the notch wheel on the bottom left side of the engine when looking from the front of the car. and when I took it out there was a lot of gunk that had collected on the sensor tip. So I cleaned off the crank shaft position sensor and put it back in. The engine started right up. I hope this can help someone else that may run into the same problem.

1995 ford taurus not getting any spark from ignition coil

the capacitor only stores energy so when high demand is requested acts like reserve to take load off of circuit until the coil is triggered it will not fire with key in run position engine off check for battery voltage @ coil if voltage is present then it,s not being triggered this vehicle should have grey ignition module either mounted on side of distributor or strut tower/firewall area i would bet this is your problem

1996 Ford Taurus will not start. The car has power and gas.

spark coils are located on top center of the engine under hood. wiggle connections and see if there are any loose. If you can not find the coils, follow the spark plug wires back from the spark plug it will lead to the coil. good luck
