Check your owners manual - there may be a default code and instructions.. However, many GM entertainment systems are locked to the VIN and you will probably need a dealer to reset it.
When you disconnect your battery and then reconnect it again, it disables the radio. This is an anti-theft protection for your car radio. The enable your radio the activation code is in your vehicle owner's manual. If you do not have this code you need to go to your vehicle manufacturer's service centre and get them to enter this code for you.
The unlock code for the radio in each vehicle differs from each van. You
will have to go to a dealer to get your specific code by means of using
you v.i.n. I think that is the answer that you are looking for. If
it isn't and you just need an explanation what an unlock code is, when
you loose power and reconnect power, the anti-theft is engaged. There for
you loose your functions on the radio. To reprogram it you will need
your unlock code to do so.
Hope this helps.
You have to go to a chevy dealership to have them unlock the radio. They use a special code that will unlock the radio and then allows you to pick a new code. Hope this helps.
the dealer is the only one that can unlock a locked radio, they will need to remove the radio, get a "code" off of the sticker on the back of it, and then call the dealers unlock assistance number to get an unlock code. it cant be done with out the dealer. im sorry :(
It may be at the back of the glove compartment or the back of your service manual. The other place that will have the code is the dealer, but they may charge you a crazy amount. The they do charge you a crazy amount, log on to radio-code.com. There is a fee, but i think it's like $12.00 and your get to keep the codes not like the dealer where there just going to unlock the radio. Good luck and hope this helps, but try 0000 first to see if that unlocks the radio. If the radio locks up and you can not enter any more codes, just disconnect the battery and that will reset the radio for you to re-enter the radio codes.
