Probably not. Most new vehicles can only be diagnosed or have their lights cleared by the proper test gear at the dealer. I'd be concerned as to why the light is on at all on such a new vehicle, it would indicate a fault of some description. Unless there is some damage or external factor that has caused the light to come on, whatever the problem is should be covered by the warranty on the vehicle, so I recommend taking it in to the dealer soon. You could try disconnecting the battery for a couple of hours, and then reconnecting and driving to see if that clears the light, but I wouldn't recommend it on such a new vehicle, as it could also lose the memory of other computer parameters and cause running faults (poor idle maybe) that may take awhile to clear up until the system relearns its settings.

Hope this helps.

Gas cap light stays on

Take off your gas cap and put it back on if that does not fix it so the light goes off replace the gas cap. This light usually indicates. A problem with the gas cap. It maybe on crooked or is not sealing properly in which case it would need to be replaced. It may need to be driven a few miles before the light goes off

Filled car up with unleaded plus gas and drove about 2 miles and the service engine light came on. When stopped at light, light was on steady. When driving the light blinks

did you tighten the gas cap properly , all vehicles have a closed
system for fuel , leaving it off or loose will set a code.

Check engine light and check gas cap message is on in my 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.7 liter

Remove the cap and put it back on. Either the cap isn't tight, the cap isn't sealing properly or there is a leak in the tank or venting system. (start with the easy stuff first! Often the light won't go out till you have driven about twenty miles unless the computer codes are cleared with a scanner.

Was told gas cap problem, replaced it, 100 miles later check engine light still wont go out.

Depending on how many mile you have but a lot of time the check engine light comes on so you will take it to the dealer so they can service it. If you want to be certain there is nothing wrong, purchase an inexpensive trouble code reader for your vehicle and see what it says. Most of code readers will allow you to clear the trouble codes also, and maybe that's all that needs to be done.

Check engine light on DTC P0456

P0456 is a code set when there is a very small leak (theres very small leak, small leak and a couple of others, your code indicates the smallest level of leaking). This can be caused by a vacuum line that is cracked or otherwise leaking on the evaporative (EVAP) system. It could even be from a gas cap that is not sealing properly, though typically a gas cap leak tends to set code P0441. Just the same, and since it is the cheaper way to go, start by replacing the gas cap and see if that clears the code and any check engine light you may have.

Once you replace the gas cap you may need to disconnect the battery for a couple minutes to reset everything if you dont have access to a scanner that can do it.
