Question about 2008 Infiniti G37
My gas cap is properly closed, and i have driven the car over 100 miles, and the service engine light still wont clear. How can i correct the problem myself or cant i ?
Probably not. Most new vehicles can only be diagnosed or have their lights cleared by the proper test gear at the dealer. I'd be concerned as to why the light is on at all on such a new vehicle, it would indicate a fault of some description. Unless there is some damage or external factor that has caused the light to come on, whatever the problem is should be covered by the warranty on the vehicle, so I recommend taking it in to the dealer soon. You could try disconnecting the battery for a couple of hours, and then reconnecting and driving to see if that clears the light, but I wouldn't recommend it on such a new vehicle, as it could also lose the memory of other computer parameters and cause running faults (poor idle maybe) that may take awhile to clear up until the system relearns its settings.
Hope this helps.
