Could be an exhaust leak, or a bad gas cap. gas caps have a vent that allows air to escape from the tank safely, if you notice a depressurizing sound when you take the gas cap off it should be replaced, it's possible that the air is building up in the tank and leaking out somewhere it shouldn't be, in which case this is very unsafe so please be careful if you must drive it this way.

not sure how low ur talking, but is your chk engine light on? Try some new plugs, and an oil change too. If the chk eng lite is on more likely the knock sensor is shot and its hard to get to. But also try some good gas and not cheap stuff either....make sure ur parking brake isnt on too...it happens.
i had the same issue and it was actually my gas cap. For some reason if the gas cap wasn't sealed all the way, i would get a strong gas smell inside the vehicle. try that 1st

My friends Carnival (Sedona) dose the same thing, This is just fuel vapor releasing from the breather. Nothing to worry about! If you want to keep up check's, keep a notice on how many miles you can do to a tank, if this reduces then you may have a leak. Have you local mechanic take a look
I had check engine light and TRAC OFF. OBD-II MIL code was P1133 which is Air Fuel Ratio Sensor Response Malfunction and scanned by AutoZone. After disconnecting the battery for 10-15 minutes, the lights went off. I cleaned the gas cap and tightened it firmly. For the last 400 miles, the lights have not come back. When scanning using Snap-on one, no code was detected. I think gas cap was the reason for the lights.
if its that bad don't run it, sounds like bad leak, best to have someone chk. it out. has it been doing this ever sence you bought it? if it has, call the place you bought it at and have them send someone over to look at it., BUT BY NO MEANS DRIVE IT TO THEM. its a potential fire hazard. I know you will smell a hint of gas when you first fill it up, but will usely go's away in short amount of time. fires will start from the fumes and not the liquid. If its that bad you can smell it on your cloths, Its bad.If this is scaring you I'am sorry this just sounds like something that can't be icnored. GET IT CHK.
