One of my license plate light bulbs is burned out and it looks like the whole assembly is broken. How can I find a diagram of that assembly to see what I might need to do for the repair/replacement??

I am trying to replace my license plate light as it is out. I know how to change the bulb, but I don't know what bulb I need.

You need to pop the trunk and look behind the back plate.these lights are usually 5watt small bayonet types and easy to spot if filament has burned or broken.

License plate light

The licence plate doesn't have a fuse, it comes on when you put your lights on, if you have your park lights on and the plate light isn't working then generally it's just a bulb, see what you can find, cheers good luck

How do you change the rear license plate light bulbs???

First look under when your license plate lights are and you will see 2 phllips headed screws remove those screws and the license plate light assembly will drop out of the bottom of the trunk, simply twist the blub to unlock it from the light housing pull the bulb straight out of the socket replace it with a new bulb and the installation is the reverse of the removal.

in your fuse panel check for faulty fuse ,or you might have to replace the whole assembly,if at the part store there is no replacement bulb then its not removeable.

Rear license plate lights burned out and can't remove or replace them. Screws won't back out of assembly. 1997 Buick LeSabre

If i remember correctly the entire rear light assembly must be remove in order to access these bulbs. This is true if the license plate is on the trunk. If this is the case then there are nuts on the inside of the trunk that must be removed.
