Seting timing on 98 chevy s10

No way replacing the starter would change timing.
Unless you removed the distributor or the timing chain.
Did you get a code 301 from the computer, and is cylinder one getting spark and fuel ?

How to change the time on my 2003 ford explorer

It should be in your owners manual. Depending on which radio you have, you either turn the radio off, push the clock button, then advance the time with the seek or tune button - or - push the clock button and put the time in using the number buttons then push the clock button again to store the setting.

Resseting the Clock, I had to cut the battery cables and rewire them, bu i dont know how to reset the clock

Keep pressing the knob that you use to adjust bass, treble, fade, ect, keep going, you will get to clock. Next one after clock is set the clock. Then you have to be quick about it, turn that same knob to increase or decrease the hour, then it will move to minutes and turn till you get the right minutes.
You really have to be quick about it, it took me several times before I got it completed.
if anybody has the 2.5S model 2010 Altima >>> hold the Clock button for 2 seconds, when the words SEEK and TUNE appear, press the Seek button (top LEFT) up or down to change the Hour ... then press the Tune button (top RIGHT) to change the minutes ... press Clock again to end adjustments.

I am geting a ping when i exelorate in my gmc 350 it is 94 2500 van i changed gas went to a hoter plug a freind told me to try seting my timing dot's at 6 oclock with #8 tdc then try to advance or ******...

How many miles? GM engines (dont get me wrong i love 'em) are bad about lifter rattle at high mileage. i wouldnt advance the timing too far for fear of the engine running hotter, try changing to a high mileage oil, maybe even synthetic which has worked for me in the past, so I only use it now form day one.
