Yeah disconnecting the battery would clear the code not cause it to come on. When you turn the ignition on the light should flash, it will be maybe three flashes then pause then let's say eight more flashes, this would be a very generic code, such as fuel system to lean, o2 sensor, for example. The codes may be still stored or will obviously come back again. Don't drive it to make it shake or do damage. Go slow and take it to auto zone or oreilly or similar and have it scanned for free. If not an option for you let me know and I can help you out

SOURCE: 03 Dodge Ram 2500 Quad Cab 4x4 Death Wobble at around 70 mph???

My truck is in the shop for this problem.
Dodge has a TSB out to adress it (Technical Service Buliten). Cause can be ball joints, track bar, pitman arm, drag link, stearing stablizer, shocks, wheel alingment, ect, gets expensive. Leveling Kits and 35 inch tires make problem worse. My truck is under warranty but if it was not I would still try and get someone to pay for the fix. You are not the only one with this problem. Good luck

SOURCE: 01 dodge ram shakes violent after bump

Yes, that rod isn't bad to do, You'll need a ball-joint removal fork for the ball-joint. But after that removing the bolt, releasing the other end is a piece of cake. You will want a friend around for installing the new one. he or she will turn the steering wheel so you can insert the new ball-joint into the frame.

SOURCE: 2001 ram 1500:3.9l v6 2wd. I have trouble codes

code 300 random cylinder misfire, code 303 cylinder 3 misfire detected code 304 cylinder 4 misfire detected. check the spark plug wires 3 and 4 inline tester for constant fire. also check the spark plugs , clean and reset the gap if necessary. if all is good check the coil terminals for corrosion. if this is all correct then check the coil with a ohm meter for primary resistance by attaching the leads to the positive and negative terminals. then check the secondary resistance by hooking one of the ohmmeter leads to the center terminal and the other lead to one of the outer terminals the resistance for primary test should be 0.95 to 1.20 ohms and the resistance on the secondary side should be 11,300 to13,300 ohms. hope this will help!!!

Check Engine light comes on and off periodicaly. If my Power Steering pump is going out will this cause it to do that???

Possible.
The power steering may have a switch on it for a variable steering rate. The switch itself could be faulty. A friend of mine had a service engine light due to the faulty switch on his Dodge pickup. His did not have a bad pump. If there is a fault in the variable steering rate system that may give you the feel of a bad pump (unless you know the pump is going out for sure)

Since your check engine light has been on, go to a local auto parts store and most will hook up a code reader for free to see what codes may be stored.

My 1997 Dodge mini van will not start. When I do

The flashing check engine light would mean that the engine is misfiring, If you have a scanner, use it on the diagnostic port of the engine to check for the error code to get which cylinder is misfiring and if there are other errors that needs to be checked.

Check engine light

Only two choices, 1 - disconnect the battery for 1/2 an hour, however if there is a problem the code will return. 2 - get a code scanner and figure out which sensor is giving the fault code and why? then fix the issue.
