No Heat for 2001 Chevy Blazer

Okay, am now stumped. Have spent a fortune on this blazer and still no heat. Have had everything replaced: radiator, hoses, waterpump, thermostat; twice, radiator flush, heater core checked and flushed both ways, heater core and blend door inspected. Everything seems to check out okay. Only two things left to do is to replace the heatercore, even though it doesn't seem it needs to be, and fix the blend door, which is working properly. Dealership is wanting over $1200 to try to fix the problem and leaves me at a 50 50 chance it will be fixed. If anyone has any suggestions or a possible solution to this problem, please e-mail me ASAP! tntannable@hotmail.com
Thank You.

I know you posted this in October, but I'm just now seeing it. I have the same problem in my 01 blazer. I've been told it has to do with the coolant. It's because the coolant is turning to this mud type liquid, clogging the heater core. I've had the heater core replace and it did blow warm air, but only for a week or so and then it needed to be flushed again. The mud is constantly clogging the system. If your blazer is anything like mine, this will forever be a problem. You can buy a heater from the auto parts store that plugs into the cigg lighter, it's something. Good Luck!

All I get is cold air. Sometimes, I may get a little bit of warm air, but that is about it.

I had the same frustrating problem when i bought my blazer, ands after all that same checking they did they finally diagnosed it as the heater core and replaced it, then I had heat. Then the thermostat went out and the heat was gone again, so replaced it and now have heat.

If you are getting a mudlike stuff, it is dirt and corrosion from in side the block and heating system. You need to do or have a good flush done on the system. If you don't get that out of the system, it will continue to block the heater core.

If you are getting a mudlike stuff, it's coming from corrosion and dirt inside the block and cooling system. You need to do, or have done,a good flush on the entire system, or you will continue to block the heater core!

tntannable, I am having the same problem, and I'm told that it is probably vapor lock. The radiator is lower than the heater core causing basically an air bubble in the heater core, which won't allow the hot coolant to enter the core. I'm trying to find the solution to that because I'm not working and can't afford to take it to a repair shop right now.

2001 Blazer Replaced heater core now water pump is squealing and seems like low circulation

my 98 Blazer I had to replace radiator water pump heatercore and hoses. Had head gasket go. Once that happens air and dexcool corrode cooling system. Do you smell antifreeze? Are you loosing antifreeze? Check oil see if its another color not clear or black but i think light brown. Have you flushed out system?

My 2000 Chevy Blazer will not produce enough heat. The radiator has been flushed with new antifreeze added. The thermostat reaches 180 degrees.

Did you do the flush and fill yourself? did you put pure antifreeze in with distilled water at a 50/50 ratio? If your antifreeze mixture is pure or almost pure antifreeze, then it will not transfer your heat and will not heat the cab well at all.

My 2001 chevy blazer stalls periodically when idle. also the temperature gauge shoots up to 260 F very quickly even though th coolant tank is full and when i stop the radiator does not fell warm or hot.

Check the thermostat to make sure the coolant is flowing through the system. If the thermostat is bad, then the truck coolant will heat very quickly. A thermostat may need to be replaced.

Replaced fuel pump on 96 chevy blazer 4.3 will run great for a while and then shuts down Im stumped what is it

If you already swapped the fuel filter then the odds are that it is the Fuel Injectors which will run around $400 in parts and another $300ish in labor.

I had this problem with mine and after reading more reviews I learned the 95-99' Blazers are lemons and it was the worst vehicle purchase I could have ever made. I spent $2000 repairing mine before selling it for $1500 in 2006.

Start by flushing your coolant system and replacing your thermostat. You may later find that you have a clogged heater core.

My 1999 chevy blazer will not blow heat

the age of the vehicle does suggest the heater core could be plugged, when the motor has been run awhile where is the temperature gauge (if it has one). ?
If i remember right it's not that bad a job to replace the heater core in those trucks... but it's been awhile for me. I would suggest some cardboard or something in front of the rad to see if it warms up at all. if so it is likely a thermostat that needs to be replaced.
