Can anyone tell me where the evap emission control valve is located on a 2003 silver ado 15000

It is on the charcoal filtering canister (engine compartment on fender wall) that your gas tank's vapor lines attach to. If you have a trouble code from this you can first try spraying it with some carb cleaner and using a small screwdriver to free up the plunger that gets stuck and causes this problem, or else just replace it. Hope this helps and let me know if you need any further assistance

Vacum Line Diagram for a 1974 Volkswagon Beetle.

These had few vac' lines . There is one from the carb' to the distributor and it was originally a steel line with rubber hosed ends and looped above carb' to stop fuel running into distributor vacuum canister.

On other models there was one for emission charcoal canister under rear fender and another from under carb on intake to clutch servo to operate the semi automatic transmission clutch..

EFI equipped engines are another story however and you will need a schematic ...... try www.thesamba.com..... this is a VW community with many posters who can help further.

Also late cars had lines running to gas tank as part of the charcoal canister system.

Hello! Do you have a Check Engine Light on? The charcoal vapor canister filter needs to be replaced...If the filter inside breaks charcoal particles will end up in the gas tank and foul the fuel pump...The filter cost under $10 the canister is $100

The EVAP charcoal canister is located in the rear driver fender-well. You can see it from under the car, just follow the hoses.

Won't pass emission test. Code P-1447 is what someone found to be wrong with it. Is this a major problem?

Your EVAP system is not working properly.
It is defidently something that you will not be able to fix yourself because of the tools that are needed. What you can do though is lift up the hood and look for a green cap. Follow the hoses that come from that cap and see if you find something wrong like cracks, tears, or something not connected. And make sure your gas cap is on tighly. If you spot nothing wrong, then you will have to take it to an actual mechanic

The charcoal filter is used to filter fumes from the fuel tank. There is a vent line, that comes from your fuel tank to this filter. (Charcoal canister)

Now since the charcoal filter has been completely soaked with gasoline, it will no longer function as it should. Even with vapors from the fuel tank vent line, the canister only has a working 'life' of so far.
You will smell gasoline in strong amounts until it is replaced.

Can't comment whether it is safe or not. (In my thinking, you are driving around with a charcoal canister, that has a charcoal filter soaked with gasoline. I wouldn't use it this way, but that is just my thoughts)
