Question about 1998 Buick Century
I need instructions on how to replace a broken electric side mirror on the passenger side
On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to manipulate the panel and disconnect the door handle linkage from the door handle and disconnect the wiring for your controls. Then you can access the bolts that secure the mirror onto the door

To add to Super_Guy's excellent comment, this is an easy 20 minute job. And on my wife's '98 Century, it was NOT necessary to disconnect any door handle linkage or door wiring. Once the two 4mm hex screws are removed from the door grip area, and the one Phillips screw from the handle area above it, just pop the plastic retaining clips loose around the edges of the door panel, and rest the panel upright on the garage floor where it is leaning against the door, with NO strain on the wiring. The only wiring I disconnected was the single plug for the mirror (my mirror job was a complete replacement - not just tightening). Three 10mm nuts secure the mirror in place. FYI - not having the correct tool for the job of releasing the plastic clips, I just used a small putty knife with a thin, stiff blade to get next to the clips and twist to pop them loose, being careful with the paint. FYI - because the 2015 online price is only $28 or so, it might be easier to replace a problem loose or stuck mirror.
Hope this helps someone else.
