- Dear Sir,
The wire broken by some from the back windows the the door.
We still look for the wire or wire harness.
When you are saying "broken wire", are you talking about the wiring harness, or the "door retract drive wire"?

-   This is BS ...Toyota should have a recall. I have talked to many people with the same problem. The local dealer we bought it from new said it would be $2000 Cnd dollars to repair. They said the estimate was accurate since they have fixed a few already, It only had 70,000km on it at the time.

-   I have the same problem. I was told by service rep that they could look at it and then appeal to Toyota as our maintainance records were so good. So I dropped by to have them look at it and the service manager told me it would cost $300 to take it apart to diagnose the problem. He wouldn't discuss the likely follow up, whether they could discuss with Toyota or anything until I agreed to spend $300 to look at it. (And keep the car at least a day.) So - 68,000 miles seems to be the limit for power cable assembly. Manual doors might be the way to go.-   chmiller

-   My driver side sliding door won't open fully and a thin cable is hanging out the back below the window as of last night. $1500 is ridiculous. I just hope the other one hangs in there. -   mamptl

-   I have the same issue as of yesterday. The dealer said $1500 to fix or cut wire and turn into a manual door. Grr

-   I have the same problem only both door cables have broken. Dealership indicates the cost in Cdn $ is $1,400 per side plus labour. Supposedly the cables cannot be changed out and the whole drive assembly for the door has to be changed. Doors are manual for now. I think it's a joke that Toyota cannot recommend changing out the cable.

I live in Utah. We get a lot of snow in the winter. Every time it snows the sliding doors on my 04 Sienna get frozen shut. I don't have a garage or a car port to park under. Does anyone have any suggestions? de-icer? the dealer quoted me $300 to repleace the seals but I don't know if that will even help
