How to change the fuel filter to a 1993 BMW - 1990 BMW 525i

It is on the drivers side on the chassis.

yes you can change it yourself. Make sure you de-pressurize the system before removing (undo the gas cap).

Also...order the filter from bavarian auto or one of the online stores. The one you need is with the pressure regulator.

If you go to autozone, etc. they will sell you the worng filter.

You do not need to bleed it it just unscrews as it is a spin on type whichh is on the R/H side of the engine near the Wing and easy to see as you will also see the inlet fuel lines to it.
Just unscrew it slowly then carefully lift it out, not dropping any fuel. You do not need to fill the new Filter up with Fuel, just oil the outer large ring rubber gasket and the inner little one before placing the new one on. Just switch on the ignition to prime it for a few seconds and then start the car. It should stall on the 1st go or 2 but then will be ok. Just check for leaks and job done!!
