Question about 2000 Toyota 4Runner

1 Answer

Transmission Shift 2000 Toyota 4Runner, 4X4, V-6, Auto Transmission. With speeds over 60 MPH and then slowing down to a complete stop, the transmission will not engage, i.e. you will not move unless you manual place the transmission in "L" or Drive "2" then you can go and excell and shift into Drive. On speed less than 60, everything works like it is suppose to, you can start and stop and the transmission shift as it is suppose to. Had the transmission rebuilt and the problem is still there. The transmission shop that rebuilt it does not know what the problem is. HELP!!!

Could be a solenoid in the tranny, or the throttle position sensor need calibrating.

Vehicle sllppery light on and alarm sound.

I am thinking that the car was telling you that traction was at a minimum at the speed you were travelling at in those conditions and advised you to slow down and when you slowed down you were back in the safety zone.

1997 Toyota 4runner manual transmission - Just had clutch replaced - will not downshift into 1st gear unless car is going less than 5 mph -

that simply means your clutch is no longer slipping and its functioning properly first is for taking off so if you are still rolling second is the go to your brakes do the work of stopping you under 5 miles per hour no need to down shift at that speed

1985 4Runner 22RE (injected / auto trans) has NO accelaration.

From minor problem to major problem. Try to replace your spark plug wires, rotor cap and the spark plugs, also it can be the injectors, plus if possible, try to replace the fuel filter which is located low under your EFI unit. If problem not solved, then it will probably be your A/T trans.
