Question about 2005 GMC Yukon

1 Answer

GMC Yukon Something in the front drivers side makes a popping sound and I can feel it in the steering and the break. It started out small but it has gotten worst. When I am on a rough road or when I turn. Now it is doing it all the time. It does'nt have to be a rough road. I have talked to several people who have GMC and Chev. My sons Chev. Truck does the same thing. I was wondering if maybe there is a recall on this?

No recall, but a silly fix that actually works, it's a steering columb grease problem. Go to the Dealer, explain the problem, they will know right away what it is. Hope this helps

While driving dwn the road i hve a bad shake in my steering wheel i have a 1999 gmc yukon

it sounds like the front tires need balancing.if you drive the truck slowly(creeping down the road at about 5mph)and lightly holding the steering wheel do you feel the steering wheel moving back and forth.this could indicate a bad belt in a tire where as a wheel imbalance won`t show up at this low of a speed, but a bad belt will.also have the front end checked for worn front end components and wheel bearings, this can cause a bad shake too.

When need to use the 4wd, my truck to the left or right the front drivers wheel makes a popping sound like if it were to have cv axles. It's a 2003 gmc yukon 4x4 it just started happening

You could have a CV joint that has gone bad, or the engagment forks to the front differental is partialy engaged which is causing the popping noise when you go around a corner. Good luck and keep me posted.

Loud popping noise when turning.Seems to be coming from the drivers side front wheel

this could be a bad inner axle joint check to see if the axle boot on the left side is torn or missing also check the wheel bearings and tie rod ends by jacking up the front of the vehicle one corner at a time and grab the tire at the 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock position and wiggle it back and forth looking for excessive movement in the tie rod ends then reverse your hands to the top and bottom of the tire and try moving it from top to bottom checking for excessive wheel bearing movement it shouldn't move in or out at the top or bottom

These trucks have a lot of noises from the Intermediate Steering Shaft. It doesnt really hurt anything, its just annoying. I'm sure your dealer has 20 in stock.

Clicking, sticking sound from front end, drivers side

It is your cv joint that is bad. If you jack the van up on that side, check to see if the boot is ripped...and more than likely your cv joint is about shot...even if the boot is intact.

The cv joint is bad....

How do I replace the power side mirrors ( manual Fold) Driver Side and Passenger side

The small triangular shaped plastic panels that are on the inside of the window where the mirror is on the outside (closest to the front window) pop off and there are fasteners there.

2002 GMC Yukon a grinding sound and feel just started on drivers side front while driving and it's deffinately not the brake rotor.

If its not the brakes then it could be a wheel bearing. Jack it up and spin the wheel. Listen for noise. If it has lots of miles or possibly been driven in high water at some point the bearing could need to be replaced. You should get it fixed and don't wait too long.

4LO problem

Sounds like you may have a problem with the power steering pump. Notorious for these pumps shaft to break, causing "armstrong" power steering. As far as the 4wd low problem, ick.
