Question about 1994 Chevrolet Cavalier

1 Answer

94 cavalier you left an answer about my car agreeing that it was the thermostat...i bought one but haven't installed it yet....another user also commented saying that i have air in my water line or a leak in the radiator or hoses... i know i have a leak in the water system somewhere. i popped the hood one day and saw that there was no coolant left in the reservoir. so i refilled it to full cold level. should i bleed the line now that i have done that then install the new thermostat or will it make a difference? thank you

Bleeding will def help but if the headgasket is bad, leaking internally or externally... there isn't much you can do but fix the issue. There is always the block sealers, i personally don't like them but in a bind.....

1997 cavalier 2.2 auto, coolant leaking a steady stream, it's running to the left of the main hose that goes into the engine on the top. Is there a gasket on the block other than the head gasket??

Are you referring to the top radiator hose that goes into the thermostat housing? If so then yes you have an o-ring seal on the bottom of the thermostat housing.

I bought a 94 cavalier yesterday and when i turn the headlights on the wiper fluid comes out, also loud vibration when in drive and stopped

The vibration is more than likely a bad motor mount located on the front of the engine towards the passenger side.

94 cavalier 2.2liter cooling system problem

Hello, you are wondering where your coolant is going to. If the waterr is leaking on the passenger side firewall the heater core may be leaking (which is common) in cavaliers, but if it is leaking at the motor it is probably the headgasket the are bad about leaking also, but if it is not bad enough Gm has made some pellet type stop leak that comes in a pack of six. Crush three to four and put them directly in the radiator these actually work great better that any I've seen in part stores, and they're inexspensive also. And I havent had them stop a radiator up either. The others will ! They even put these in brand new Cadillacs From the factory. Buy the ones at GM only. Thank You I hope this is a help.
