Question about 1994 Ford F150 Styleside Supercab

1 Answer

1994 f150 running erratic and diesiling when I turn it off.

My truck will barely stay running at times when it's idling. It seems to have a miss also. I have change plugs, wires, rotor and distributer cap. Also It recently got an exhaust leak and it will stink up the cab. Does that mean its leaking close to the motor? Please tell me how to make it run better. It's a straight six motor.

Check the timing as for the exhaust leak then there is no way to tell where its leaking from unless you check the entire exhaust till you find the hole

IAC valve @ throttle body regulates the air/fuel idle. its right in front of the throttlebody, replace it, MAP sensor works together with IAC, both could be your problem. everything else you did is good, I feel these items are necessary to put you back in bussiness, just do it !!!

4.9 litre ?? you having a laugh its a 10ton truck engine not a pick up -global warming machine, remove the pump/sender unit and check the gauze filter also look inside tank for a something floating around ,i think the idles is not a related problem to the vehicle losing power but their is a possibility you could have a problem with the little vac operated thing on the fuel injector line that allows the fuel through only when the engine is running

1994 c280 2 a/c fans stay on when a/c is off

The fans don't run until car hits certain temps when warm. They are timed. Shouldn't be running constantly, only when car idles for very long time should they come on.

If it barely ever comes on when idleing, the relays or temp sensor could be shot.

Miss firing

could be a wire crossed, or it's out of time. since you used motorcraft plugs, did you set them properly to the correct gap? replacing plugs without gapping them can cause the sluggishness, out of time can cause the mis-fires and rough running.

1984 ford f150 running erratic.

Check and adjust your choke accordingly, also since you have given it a tune up you should adjust your timing if it needs adjustment. Also check for any vacuum leaks. As for the exhaust leak I would look along the exhaust manifold and then along the exhaust pipe under the cab, check where the exhaust manifold and the exhaust pipe connect as there should be a donut or flange in there and it could be deteriorating. Good luck and remember to rate all the solutions you get, thanx.
