Question about 2005 Honda Accord

1 Answer

2005 Honda Accord headlight replacement.

Am I correct that in order to replace the headlights in my 2005 Accord that I need to remove the battery (drivers side) then remove three (3) screws to pull the burnt out bulb? Is there a way that a non-contortionist can do this?

I followed the instructions in the manual. Could not remove the cover from the fender after removing the fasteners.

We have a Honda Accord 2003 (the head light assembly looks similar to 2005) and managed to changed the passenger side headlight by twisting the light socket without having to remove any screws. The cable will disconnect by pressing a tab to separate the old bulb and allow replacement with new bulb. I suspect that driver side headlight will have similar option.

For the driver's side headlight, yes, the battery must be removed to change the headlight. There are three screws but they don't have to be removed, just loosened enough to where the bulb can rotate ninety degrees to pull out. Be prepared to reenter the radio code as disconnecting the battery will cause the radio to electronically lock out. The radio code can be found on the security card or inside the user's manual if you're lucky.

How to remove/replace front headlight unit (not Bulb) on a 2002 Honda Accord LX, Have removed all but one bolt, it appears that I need to access the last bolt through the front wheel well area, is this...

If i recall correctly, when i did this job, you had to take down the front fascia, not the inner plastic wheel fender. However, to reach the turn signal for replacement, you can do it by removing the inner fender, and no need to touch the headlight assembly. Remember to reconnect the turn signal cable at the time of reassembly..... i forgot that, and had to take out the fender again to reach the connector.

Is the low beam headlight bulb difficult to replace from under the hood on a2005 honda accord

I just replaced both low beam headlight bulbs on my 2005 Honda Accord. After reading the owner's manual and trying to remove the wheel well inserts (and breaking a couple of those clips in the process), I gave up on that approach and was able to change the passenger side and driver side low beam bulbs from the engine compartment under the hood. On the passenger side, fit your arm between the front of the car and the hose that is above the headlight. You should be able to reach the bulb, disconnect the electrical connection, turn the bulb 45 degrees counterclockwise to remove it, insert the new bulb turning it 45 degrees clockwise to secure it in the hole (be careful not to touch the bulb), and reconnect the electrical connection. I loosened the 3 screws that secure the bulb to make it easier to put in the new one, but that probably isn't necessary. My hand was scraped a bit doing this, but it was not too bad. On the driver side, remove the battery hold-down clamp (there is no need to disconnect the battery connections). Reach into the fender (shine a light there so you can see the bulb connection) and you should be able to reach the bulb and replace it similarly to the other bulb. You may have to move the battery slightly to get your arm in there. Replace the battery hold down clamp when you're done. I accidentally dropped the old bulb in the wheel well, but other than that it went pretty smoothly. Good luck.

Can't replace passenger side headlight on 4 cylinder sedan because of obstruction from what appears to be part of the emission control system (a plastic funnel assembly). Can't free the three screws...

  1. Remove the front bumper.
  2. Disconnect the connectors (A).
    1. Remove the five mounting bolts (B), then remove the headlight assembly (C).
    2. Install the headlight in the reverse order of removal.
    3. After replacement, adjust the headlights to local requirements.

Headlights on a 1991 Honda Accord

the bulb gets replaced from the back the front headlight covers do not come off .You first have to unplug the wiring connector to the bulb you are replacing which sometimes is a pain then you twist the ring that's around the bulb to unlock it from the housing then pull the bulb straight out .If the bulb your replacing is on the same side as the battery you will need to remove the battery because there wont be enough room for you to access

How do I replace a headlight on a 2000 Honda Accord?

I HIGHLY recommend CrystalView Headlight Cleaner. It is about $30, they sell it at auto stores and even Wal-Mart. It cleaned my dirty headlights very nicely. Follow the instructions perfectly and you wont be let down, I assure you.

While you're at the auto-store, you can find your replacement bulbs (REPLACE BOTH HEADLIGHTS!!) in the books the stores provide.

How to assemble a 2000 honda accord headlamps

Its actually pretty straight forward. Disconnect the headlight. Then their are two bolt on the top the the headlight. Remove those then remove the wheel of the car. Then their are three more bolts bellow the headlight All three facing from the outside of the fender to the center of the car.

Then once you have those 5 bolts out. Pull the headlight forward and up. Their are two tabs that go into the fender.
