Last one I had that did this turned out to be the vehicle speed sensor that it mounted in the electric valve panel in the valve body.

2010 Eos Triptonic shift

Hi, was it a puff of brownish smoke? If so then drive in tip tronic mode a bit more often. People tend to drive the car a bit harder and take the revs higher than the normal auto mode thus clearing out the cat and exhaust system. I should clear after a 100km or so drive in tiptronic. Kind reagrds, Neil

Try putting the in in on position and depress accelerator pedal to floor for ree seconds three times. that should put it in learning mode however sounds more like TCM or tranny valve body.

Have a BMW 325I Need to know how to set the clock. Also need to know how to turn on the high beams on ? Also why is there a play with the shift in drive mode (right to left) what does that do ?

hi, ive got the 325 auto/tiptronic, had all the same problems,
1. change the clock by the right dial on dashboard, turn right to get correct time,
2.high beam is on left control push forward for high beam

3.in drive mode push the lever to the left for sport mode. an "s" will appear where the d was, higher revs before chinging gear

good luck,

What gear to drive in when towing a trailer with toyota camry

Whatever gear the car needs to have the moter spinning without full throttle.Auto and manual are driven differently.Up hill, downhill.Mostly,if its manual you wait a bit longer to change gears.E.g.Normal change revs,3000 rpm,go to 3500rpm with the trailer on.Auto, use the gear selecter and put it back to 3 instead of D and when the car has enough speed, then into D.Drive the auto like a manual on hills etc.to help it.Don't forget that braking distances almost double when you have a trailer on.Hope this helps

Mercedes c class with tiptonic gearbox. It seems to have got stuck in a low gear when I slowed down for a roundabout. When I accelerated to 50/60 mph, the rev counter was way too high and no auto gear...

It seems oil level is low in your gearbox, and it most likely leaking from adapter bushing ( where cable is connected to gearbox).
You need to replace seals or complete bushing and correct oil level.
Better if you visit your mechanic.

AUDI A6 SIX SPEED TIPTRONIC GEARBOX SEEMS TO BE IN WRONG GEAR AND APPEARS TO HAVE SLIPPING

I have been having similar problems. The clutch is slipping as thats how you get the variable gears when in full auto, but this is where the problem comes from, some garages (auto gearbox specialists) are now able to fix it. Do not go to Audi as all they do is replace the gearbox (very expensive). There is no quick fix though! Sorry for the bad news!!

Auto Transmission problem

hi do the simple bits first check the fliud level in the box see if its a clear redish colour if any other colour you have a box problem second when was the last time you chaged the boxes oil and filter a blocked filter will cause your problem then the box itself first clutch could be slipping put the box in first gear chock your wheels up put the handbrake on put your foot on the brake pedal start the engine and rev with your other foot and see when the car stalls it should be around 2500 and 3000 revs if its higher than this the clutch is slipping on that gear after this you will need to take it for pressure testing yates210456

I can guess from what u said that u have or an aumatic gear box or a tiptronic gear box!anw i think u must get ur mechanic to check on the gear box..maybe its slepping..and when the motors gear are not in a good condition it will turn off..like taking ur foot off the cluch for example;)
