Ground connection is in the harness that goes to the pump. If you locate the proper wire, you can re-ground it, or trace it back to where it originates to determine why it is not seeing ground. I generally run extra ground wires to both fenders, block and firewall of any vehicles I own, just to ensure that grounding is not lost.

I want to change the fuel pump on my 2000 chevy astro van how do i get to it

You'll have to remove the fuel tank that is underneath the truck. There is usually some shielding and a couple of straps that hold the tank in, also various fuel lines that need to be detached. You then unscrew the retainer ring from the sender unit and pull it out, the pump is attached. This is a pain to do on the ground, you may be better off just to have a shop do it...even if you buy your own pump. A shop should charge about $150 to install it.

How to change a fuel pump on a 2000 chevy astro van

It is located in the gas tank, you will need to remove the sending unit at the top fo the tank. To access the sending unit, you will need to drop the tank by removing the straps. It is a big tank so drain as much as possible and disconnect the batter before you start.

Hope this helps

I have a 1998 chevy astro V6 over 200000 miles

The fuel pump might be working but it is not priming. When you turn on the vehicle, the pump sends fuel under pressure to the injectors, to "prime" or have fuel present to be able to start engine. Without it there will no fuel available to start it. You are manually priming the engine, and the fuel pump is taking over from there. Check connections to fuel pump and replace if necessary. It is not an inexpensive repair

I have a problem

Power goes to the gray wire at the fuel pump. The larger black wire is the ground. The other 2 are for the fuel gage at the fuel pump connector.

Chevy astro van turns over but wont start when

Check to see if the fuel pump is kicking in,
when you turn the key on without starting the van you should hear it kick on for about 2 seconds,

It could be...
A clogged fuel filter...
Blown fuse for the pump..or bad pump relay..
No gas
Bad fuel pump

Fuel pump

Did you check the fuse and relay? It can't work unless it gets power. Did you check the harness and make sure pump is getting voltage?
