have the same problem, occurs when i go through car wash...rubber(?/not exactly) before the moonroof assembly comes loose and i have to bang it into place every time this happens. going to dealer to see if they can glue it into place so this does not happen again

yep, also scion tC (very first generation), it happens once I hit 60 mph.

hitting it shut (front, driver side corner) helps for some time, but it is back pretty soon. dealer could not do anything, the traffic was slow when they did the test drive, so... they were "unable to duplicate the problem".

    any help is appreciated.

It's normal for this to happen... I'm going to assume that this happens when you're traveling at 40mph plus or is it at slower speeds aswell?

Take it to the dealer, i hand mine fell of when i took it to a carwash and took my car to the dealer right away and they put a new one, glued it together, and it hasn't made a sound nor has it fallen off again.

Whistling noise coming from the driver's side. It seems to be coming from right behind my ear. It starts as soon as I hit 60mph and above. Can't pinpoint the exact location. Any help would be greatly...

If its a wind noise, you can tape over window seals, door cracks one at a time to help you pinpoint your problem area. There is no easy way to find those, just have to use the process of elimination.

Moonroof will not vent or seal shut. Why?

It sounds like a mechanical adjustment. A lot of times moon roofs will have adjustment screws to make small alignment adjustments. You may have to move the glass to various positions to access them, but that is where I would start.

I have a 2004 pontiac grand am and it is making a whistle sound when I drive what is wrong?

It whistles because it does not know the words. Common experience tells us that whistling comes from sucking or blowing air or other gas, not a liquid, through an orifice. Lots of orifices on a car so start by having someone listen under the hood, after opening it, as it idles and even with some revving up and down a bit. Some clue may be given as to the location of the whistle.

If you look closely under the hood you will see many small diameter hoses, usually black, which transfer engine vacuum hither and yon to do work or throw switches as the car goes about its business. Following each of these hoses to their ends and making sure they are still connected could lead you to a whistler.

There is a large wide black belt under the hood called a serpentine belt, these have been known to screech as they age and/or become loose. If the whistle noise is actually a screech, then I think you could use a squirt gun to spray some water on it as it spins and if the noise briefly goes away until the water dries, you may cure your whistle with a new belt.

Someone who knows what they are doing is most likely going to have to put their eyes and hands on the car to figure this out.

Linc Navigator Moonroof Stuck Open

I had the same problem with mine. 2003 Navigator, and the moonroof would open but wouldn't close. When hitting the switch to "open" you'd hear a click, but no sound when trying to close it. So I popped that console down off the ceiling, pulled out the harness for that switch, and figured out which wires to jump to close it.
