Question about 1990 Ford Ranger SuperCab
This is a problem on a 1990 Ranger Pick-up. I have purchased a brand new battery, and it has totally run down. Is there anything special I could check on, to try to find my problem? I am at a loss as to what I should do now. Any help would be appreciated. THANK YOU

Need to have a mechanic check :
2. Voltage Regulator
3. clean all main connections, battery terminals, ground cable connection to truck body, power to starter motor
4. test for battery drain (use an ampmeter with everything turned off, no key in ignition, all doors closed) There should be NO current draw in this condition, if there is, you have a short that is not enough to trip a fuse, but enough to kill your battery.
unless both 1&2 are working properly you will continue to kill batteries. Have the battery that is in there tested for free by autozone or another car parts store that doesn't chanrge for ths service. The "new" battery you bought may or may not be good anymore depending on how discharged it got.
Sears auto service used to do this 1&2 above for free ... but then again the used to perform work that was not needed.
