Why. You will find the fluids hold up very well except gas which will evaporate off the light ends and make it hard to start. I would just add some Chevron fuel injector cleaner to the fuel tank & add a fresh tank of gas to whats in there.

I have a 2006 ford taurus that skips bad the fuel pump has been replaced 2 times n the compter

By "skips," I'm assuming that you mean it has a misfire.
Check all of the following:
  1. Fuel filter;
  2. Fuel pressure regulator:
  3. Spark plug wires;
  4. Spark plugs;
  5. Fuel injectors;
  6. Coil packs
  7. If there is a CHECK ENGINE light showing, have all codes read and correct all conditions.
  8. If the car sat for more than six months recently, if you live in an area where humidity is high, or if there is any chance of fuel contamination, manually drain ALL FUEL and replace with new. Use FUEL SYSTEM AND FUEL INJECTOR CLEANER every six months.

I have this 2004 F-250 diesel since September runs great. However, recently the water in fuel light came on. I bought both the upper and lower fuel filters and changed them. The light came...

i had the same problem with my f250 diesel, i had got all the filters changed, and it still came on, the drain plug was stripped so i took it to a dealer, they ordered a new housing and gasket, and i niticed they changed the wiring harness for it, was an updated one , so i suspect you need to replace the harness , aprox 30 bucks, and the housing was aprox 220 dollars if it needs replacing.

How to change fuel pump on 1999 ford taurus?

The fuel pump is in the tank, You will have to drain the fuel and disconnect the fuel lines (will need a fuel line release tool, they are sold at most auto parts stores) and the filler hose. Then remove the fuel sending unit out of the tank.

Fuel filter

I have hereby given the procedure to replace the fuel filter

#1 Raise and support the car on jackstands.
#2 Place the drain pan under the transmission fluid pan.
#3 Starting at the rear of the pan and working toward the front, loosen the attaching bolts and allow the fluid to drain. Finally remove all of the pan attaching bolts except two at the front, to allow the fluid to further drain. With fluid drained, install two bolts on the rear side of the pan to temporarily hold it in place.
#4 Remove the converter drain plug access cover from the lower end of the converter housing.
#5 Remove the converter-to-flywheel attaching nuts. Place a wrench on the crankshaft pulley attaching bolt to turn the converter to gain access to the nuts.
#6 With the wrench on the crankshaft pulley attaching bolt, turn the converter to gain access to the converter drain plug. Place a drain pan under the converter to catch the fluid and remove the plug. After the fluid has been drained, reinstall the plug.
#7 Disconnect the driveshaft from the rear axle and slide shaft rearward from the transmission. Install a seal installation tool in the extension housing to prevent fluid leakage.
#8 Disconnect the speedometer cable from the extension housing.
#9 Disconnect the downshift and manual linkage rods from the levers at the transmission.
#10 Disconnect the oil cooler lines from the transmission.

How do you drain the fuel tank of a 98 ford f250

If you do plan on replacing the fuel filter, just take the filter off and see if you can just run the fuel pump and catch the fuel in a gas can.

87 celica sitting for 10 yrs, will not start

You need to drain all old fuel out of the fuel tank, the fill with fresh fuel, clean or change filters (air and fuel)
and if possible blow fuel lines through with compressed air. Check the plugs are clean and gapped correctly, check the engine oil is ok.
Then use some easy start in the air filter to get it to fire up, after 10 yrs it will be difficult to start, but should be alright after a few runs.
I hope this helps

99 Taurus wont start unless primed. Fuel pump is working

Check/Change Fuel Filter(s), PVC Valve & Emission Hoses
Gas that sits too long won't fire easily that's why we have to add winterize to our lawn mowers!
Try filling the tank with some high grade fuel cleaner additive. This stuff is like rocket fuel (about $10).
Also add a can of dry gas as you may have a lot of water and water vapor in your system!
Get a couple more cans of starter fluid too. (I always needed at least two to get my diesel running for summer)
Keep spraying and starting (It always took me at least a full can sometimes 2)
When it starts keep the gas pedal down and rev high for a good 5-10 minutes then see if it will idle.
If it still stumbles and falls consider adding another can of fuel system cleaner and/or dry gas.
Don't drain the tank as this usually just makes it worse by letting the bottom sludge stir up.
Never let your gas tank get too low as this will foul up your fuel system and always add fuel cleaner after every oil change (a must for fuel injection and cat. converter care)

Good Luck!
