I have had the same issue, always suspected electrical issues. My batteries used to drain all of the time. mirrors go haywire when I unlock doors, tells me my liftgate is open when it isn't, coolant sensor bad warning, power locks don't work on all doors, alarm goes off for no reason, or doesn't work when liftgate warning is on. Also get an error instead of temp reading. on A/C temp gauge- even when A/C not running. Sometimes my clock changes or flashes even if battery hasn't been off.

By the way- we had a cheap battery that we just kept replacing with the same one since it was under warranty, We finally just got a better brand brand & the issue with the battery hasn't happened since then.

Alarm system goes off by itself

Your system may have a backup battery that has low voltage when the car is turned off. You may have to look under the dash to see if you can find the main computer for the alarm.

Dead rear wiper on 96 grand cherokee

If there is a short inside the motor assembly itself yes it can cause a drain , simply unpugging the clip from the motor can solve this. And as far as repair goes you usually just need to buy a new/remanned motor and replace it.
