Correct, its called the Plenum.... And it has to be removed.. you can loosen MOST of the things hooked to it, such as electrical plugs and EGR valve, ect and then "flop" it over out of the way.. you will need a new gasket for it before reinstalling it..
Sounds complicated, but it isnt...

How many spark plugs are in a 2005 Kia Sedona

There are six plugs in the Sedona. The motor is turned 90 degrees from which way we are accustomed to seeing one in a vehicle..
First remove the six bolts (10mm) that hold the engine cover on. You also have to remove the oil cap to take this cover off.
The front three plugs and their corresponding coils are in the front and fairly accessible as you can follow the spark plug wires to them. It is best to disconnect the battery before doing this work.

You will have to remove the three corresponding coils to the front three sparkplugs. You use a 16mm spark plug socket to remove the spark plugs.

The back three plugs are under the intake manifold cover. This is a difficult and awkward removal to get the cover off, because the back bolts are very difficult to access. Please watch the video to follow the details to get it off. The next three sparkplugs are under this cover.

This video was a good example what to do with the plug and coil once removed for maintenance.

We r trying to change the spark plugs in a 2002 kia sedona. and we r trying to take the intake manifold off but wont come off. we have loosened every bolt. any suggestions? thanks..

According to what I can find, you don't need to take the intake manifold off:
3.5L Engine

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
WARNING When disconnecting the cable, only pull on the plug cable boot, never on the wire itself!
  2. Detach the spark plug cable from the spark plug.
  3. Use spark plug wrench to remove the spark plug(s) from the cylinder head.
WARNING Do not let any dirt or debris get into the engine through the spark plugs holes while when are removed.

To install:
  1. Install the spark plug and tighten to 15-22 ft. lbs. (20-30 Nm). Do not over-tighten the spark plug.
  2. Attach the spark plug wire(s) to the spark plug(s).
  3. Connect the negative battery cable.

I have a Kia Sedona 2005. I'm trying to change th...

There are three on the front side of the motor, there are ignition coils and boots are each of them. Unbolt and remove the coil, they are down in the cylinder head, you'll need a ratchet and a 6 inch extension and 5/8 inch socket to remove them. The three on the back side are under the top of the intake manifold. You'll need to remove the top half of the intake to get to them.

I need a diagram to so me where to find the sparkplugs for a 2002 Kia Sedona Lx

The first three spark plugs are easy but the back three are not fun at all. You have to take the intake plenum off to get to the back three. It took me about 10 hours to finish the job. I don't even want to think about what the shop would have charged. Here is a link with the best directions you will find anywhere.

Where are the spark plugs located

Front plugs are relatively easy to find, under the coils when you remove the 'decorative' plastic engine cover. Access to the rear plugs require removing the intake plenum and throttle body. A bit labor intensive, but not terribly complicated if you keep track of where all the electronic attachments go.

2002kia sedona changing spark plugs

Well, here it your delima. The intake manifold covers the back 3 plugs, You will need to replace those gaskets on the manifold as well. The only other thing I know is that there is a bracket on the back side of the motor. You must loosen it from the bottom. I would rather not see a novice do this with someone working closely with him.
The Timing Belt is probably an age or milage issue. A novice SHOULD NEVER attempt that. It the safest thing is to replace it. This way an old belt doesn't give out and do severe engine damage. I'm not saying it's going to happen. It's a gamble though.
That's the best advice I can give.

Spark plugs

If you want to see the three spark plugs on the back you have to lift your car and put on jack stand and follow the spark plugs wire under your engine. You have ignition coil set beside spark plugs for spare.
