Chrysler Sebring Problem

Ok, lets see if this stumps anybody!

I'm sitting in my house and I hear a horn go off, I look outside and its my 2005 Sebring. It was like someone was just laying on the horn, one long horn sound. I pushed the panic button, then it was on & off w/ lights blinking. I pushed it again and it stopped. WIERD!!!

It doesn't have an alarm, but it does have a panic button. The keys were on the counter, and I live alone, so no one pushed the panic button on the key ring. This has happened twice in the last 3/4 days.

What do you think???

I have a 2003 dodge grand caravan. My panic alarm just goes off.It sounds like someone is laying on the horn. But when I hit key alarm it stops for at least 30 mins for about an hour then goes off again.

I had this happen last winter. Dealer replaced the horn relay in the steering wheel. It was under warranty, the dealer stated the cost would be about $300. The part had to be ordered and took 2 days to come in. It will get worse and eventually get stuck which is a real trip at 3am. There is a relay that you can remove thats under the panel on the drivers side dash that will disable the horn. After investigating this online I found its a pretty common problem with this years model and usually happens when there is a temperature change to cold.

I have a 2005 Chrysler Sebring Touring 2.7 V6 SEDAN and I am having the same Issue but mine does not do it when it is cold..it does it during the heat of the say...I am in hot humid Houston, Tx...I eventually disconnected my horn only to purchase a push botton horn kit and installed it...I still havent figured out why it did this. Is there a recall on this model.

I have seen this happen in damp areas and very cold areas where condensation sets in and shorts out the circuit, thus soundig the horn. Good luck and remember to rate all the solutions you get, thanx.

Horn location

My info says below right side headlamp, that should be the passenger side. In that area. I would want to check voltage and ground before suspecting the horn, itself.

At what mileage should the timing belt be replaced on a 2005 Chrysler Sebring 4 cyl? Does the tensioner need to be replaced as well?

Depending on how the car is driven (outside temp, towing, stop and go, dusty, etc...) the maintenance schedule states either 90.000 miles or 120,000 miles. If any one harsh driving condition applies, chrysler recommends 90,000 miles. The only mention of the tensioner needing replaced is if the belt was damaged due to misalignment.
Hope this helps.

The horn on my 2006 sebring is going out. Is this a major fix?

It is located behind the right headlight assembly, remove that, one mounting bolt, and wiring harness, and it's out.
If you need anything else, let me know.
