I ran into this with my focus. It turned out to be a loose connection on the crank sensor. It started right after i changed the serpentine.

but this happens only when moving off just above idling speed, and as apply my service brake while I exit from the multistorey carpark and is it common for the rpm to keep moving between 1000 rpm to 950. please advise

2000 ford expedition I changed plugs pcv egr valve cover gasket I am still getting power loss and hesitation in drive and sometimes it stalls plus I have a b1676 code

There is no B1676 DTC. You probably mean P1676 which refers to incompatible injector data. Probable causes are:
1. Control unit software needs updating
2. Faulty PCM or ECM

Checking these two probable causes may get performance back to normal.

My ford focus zetec 1.8 keeps over revving when coming to a slow stop, sometimes it goes upto 3000 revs, and sometimes when i come to a stop the rev counter keeps going up and down, and it as cut out...

Hi I an Vortash there are a few things that can cause this ... Air at the inlet manifold caused by a faulty gasket ?.... Air leak in the Brake servo causing loss of Inlet vacum ( this would be noticeable with the fact that brakes would be a little spongy but not always and sometimes the engine revs increase when you put the brakes on when staionary ) Faulty throttle cable ... faulty throttle sensor .. best way to find out is to have the car checked out on a Krypton tune machine ( or equvalent ) to determine the fault otherwise you could spend out on un nesscasary parts .. at least the machine would pinpoint it for you .. It is always adviseable if you do your own repairs to get hold of a Haynes manual for your vehicle it will tell you all the best ways of treating most of your cars problems cheaply and efficiently hope this helps Regards Vortash

Focus That stalls

you need a new fuel pump. There was a program to pay for this for 10 years I think for some 2000-01 Foucs. Here's what the letter from Ford says: December 2003 Program 03N01 "Attached is a letter announcing the details of a no-charge program Ford Motor Company will be conducting concerning your vehicle's fuel pump. We have found some 2000-01 Ford Focus vehicles may experience symptoms of engine hesitation, loss of power, surging and other similar symptoms ...... as a rsult of progressive contamination of the fuel pump filters." (in the fuel pump). You may reduce the liklihood of the symptoms occurring by kee[ing the tank at least half full. My recollection is the program was good for 10 years. Ask your local Ford Dealer if your car is eligible for this program.
