We also hear water sloshing in the dash area.

Took it to the Dealer and they said they called Kia on this and this is normal - not so sure but.....

Anyway they said it had to do with the heater core and a void in the system. I am going to call Kia myself after the holidays. Just to make sure.

I have a 2006 kia that makes the water sounds too.  Just curious as to what is causing it.

I have the same exact problem and everyone thinks I'm crazy when I tell them I can hear fluid sloshing around when I stop or turn corners..It's not constant, but it's weird! I'm due for my 30,000 servicing soon, but going to take it somewhere besides Kia...They want almost 600.00 to do it. I have done 3,000 servicing religiously, so hopefully nothing needs done.

Hmmm .... Just found this on a GM forum, sounds like the same thing and would go with what my dealer said.

I work for kia. what you have to do is jack the front end of the vehicle 2-3 feet off of the ground. then take radiator cap off and fill radiator. let the vehicle get to opperating temp. then add coolant again as neccessary. ohh yea make sure heater is on full blast. that should fix concern

I had the same fluid dash area sound from KIA spectra 09, especially when making a turn. I tried various ideas from the web. Such as raising the front end and trying to top off radiator to checking for any drainage plug left from dealer prep. I finally realized that the reserve/overflow reservoir (on the right of the radiator) . It was below the low line. I filled it to between the low and the full lines. Have been driving it for a month now and no sloshing sounds from the dash are. Not sure if it is the fix you need but worked for me.

I had the same problem. The dealership had to drain air out of the cooling system. It worked!

Heat not working in 2006 mdx acura

The whole system is very simple. There is a valve that opens and closes on one of 2 hoses that come from the engine. If the heater core is not getting water, the valve itself is the problem. If they did the flushing properly they should have checked to see if that valve was fully open to allow the flushing process to clean out the heater core too. If there is sloshing in the heater core (check it by listening under the dashboard when heat is turned on) then there is AIR in the core stopping the antifreeze mix from going through its coils. Remove the heater switch on the heater hose and check it for proper action first. Next have a compressed air test of the heater core to see if it is clogged. If you fix this, try to do regular maintenance on your beautiful MDX!

I have chevy impala 2002 and lately I have been hearing water sloshing (sounds like it s coming from the dashboard...), any idea what is it? and can be fixed?

Sounds like air in your heater core. That's the only place fluid comes into passenger compartment. To eliminate, make sure coolant level is filled completely or have cooling system flushed.

I have had a sloshing sound in my dash board of my 2006 Kia Sprectra and have had it back to the dealer's many time for repair. They cannot locate the problem , and says it air pockets. They have...

Well I hope this is it...
I had the same thing happen to mine about 3-4 months ago and was baffled, until, that is, water started accumulating on the passenger side floorboard. As the sloshing sound got louder, the puddle on the floor got bigger until I couldn't stand it and got down on the floor board myself and started digging around. First, let me note that I had noticed no condensation pooling under my car as usual and that initially raised my suspicions any way. To make a long story longer, the drain tube for the ac condensation was plugged up. Once I cleared the line the sound was gone.
I know I had heard that sound before with no leaking problems and do not know if this time it was just too clogged to run it's course.

Take vehicle to AutoZone for free diagnostic. They will give you a print out showing trouble codes. If you still need a automotive manual for your car, you can get it there also for about 15 bucks.

Water sloshing in dashboard

It won't be in the dashboard it will be in the scuttle tray because the drains are blocked.

Lift bonnet, right at the back of the engine bay at the base of the windscreen you will see plastic cowls. The scuttle area is beneath these, there will be a drain either side. It is common for cars parked near trees to get leaves block up the scuttle drains. If you clear them obviously the water will escape... problem solved.

Do this ASAP, if the water level goes too high it will pour in through the heater system and possibly cause damage.

Hope this helps

I have a 2008 kia with the same water sloshing in the dash sound when I stop, start and sometimes when I turn corners. I too thought I was hearing things. I'm kind of glad others have had the same...

There is a TSB from kia that suggests jacking up the front of the car and run the engine. That sound is caused by engine coolant going through the heater core inside your car. I will also try to bleed the system.
