If you have replaced the fuel filter this year, the next thing to check is fuel pressure with a gauge. GM vortec engines require 60psi or more to run. If the check engine light is on you should also have the computer scanned for trouble codes.
Fuel filter, plugged exhaust (even though you replaced the Cat), low compression, low fuel pressure, valve timing, MAP Sensor?
Seems like it's temperature related if you can go 15-20 to start with then only 3 after that...
Have u checked to make sure that the fuel filter isn't plugged, and it could be possible that the fuel pump is bad -being cracked or haveing a bad seal in it allowing fuel to leak back in the gas tank, as soon as your fuel pump warms up the leak would expand dropping your power
its the fuel pump, i have 2001 GMC yukon and thats what it did, it would start an run, idle just fine, but put it on ther computer to test it, it showed lean on both banks, meaning that the fuel pump was going out, was loosing pressure, i got a pump for 256.00 had a frind help me change it, it runs just fine,,
