Question about 2005 Volkswagen Jetta
My keys would not work (could not even put it into switch). Called a tow truck and they had to use dollies on my front tires (front wheel drive) they did actually drag my car up on the tow bed at one point beside scraping my underside of the front bumper what other kind of damage can this cause when the car cannot be put in netural and the front wheels are locked? I have this documented but this does not sound like a good thing.
Unlikely to cause damage that is not noticable. If it was dragged with the wheels not turning, ( tow truck drivers usually know better) locked by the tranny in Park, unless it is more than a couple of car lengths, should be no problem, Qualified tow operators know what they are doing (cosmetic damage aside). If you have ANY doubt, have the repair shop sign a complete statement that you have (already) written about the towing incident, just in case you need it later ... put it in the glovebox with the towing receipt, you will probably never need it.
When you drive it you will know if the tranny is OK. No worries.
