Same issue here. Brakes and rotors changed 8 months ago. Three months ago ABS and brake lights come on and off, and now are on all the time. Module problem or brake job tweak?

Noticed that the ABS would kick on when braking on dry pavement.  Happened for a day or so, then stopped.  Now, the ABS light and (what I think is) the traction control "Triangle inside of a circle" light on all of the time while I drive.  The ABS isn't kicking in on dry pavement, but I'd still like to fix whatever is wrong...

this part scares me...."it felt like the brakes kicked in on its own and then it turned the abs
lights and traction control on ... it felt like it was rubbing or
something"........there must be a mechanical problem here..geometry of brake parts /rotor etc...everything you disturbed when changing out the axle needs to be VERy carefully inspected ...we are dealing with safety issues here now not just a light...look at the side that was not done..and move back to see how it looks on the side you did..something is not the same and we must find it before you take this thing out on the road again

I have a 2000 Audi TT Quattro (180). Both my ABS and ESP light were on. I took it to my local garage who replaced a front wheel sensor which eliminated the ABS light. After a 30 mile drive the ESP light...

Check bearing and joint/knuckle on every wheel and even on the drive shafts, if there is lack/knocking, that could cause abs and esp light, because sensor doesnt give right information and ecu only records sensor fault but doesnt say why the infromation is wrong.
They changed the sensor but didnt solve the cause!!!

Traction control light and abs light comes on when the brakes are engaged after dealer checked brake pads, they say they did not cause it. It will go off when engine is shut off then when driving will come...

the problem I have found with fords is that the stator ring that is on the cv shafts(drive Shafts) crack and will dislodge. this will cause an abs / traction control code. these can be spot welded back on to hold. Just push them back in place and don't worry abour the gap

2002 a4 2.5 tdi quattro Traction control light comes on loss of power.. Got the egr valve replaced.. still the same...

traction control has nothing to do with the egr valve.

likely you have a bad wheel speed sensor somewhere.

Have the ABS scanned with a scan tool at your dealer

Hope this helps.

Exclamation point in circle light on

Hi, Sounds like your abs braking system is at fault. The light would normally flicker when traction (tyres loosing grip with the road) is lost, Then as regained the light should go back out, however you have a sensor on each wheel either one of those may have packed in or your main ABS control unit under the bonnet may be at fault or on the way out. Also it may be your traction control switch that could be at fault. Hope this helps.

I have a 03 Audi A6 Quattro with the ESP & ABS light on

It's probably your brake check switch going bad, it's under the driver's side dash above the brake pedal. I had the same problem and eventually my cruise control and brake lights stopped working when it failed completely. This is also a redesigned part that you can get from the dealer for about $8, which to me indicates they new the part caused problems and failed to notify owners. Try that before Audit tries telling you wires are faulty.
