Since you didn't say what engine you have, diesel, 1.8 or 2.5 v6 are all possibilities, then let's take a guess at the v6 in which case it's the same engine as in the mgzs 180 and this video of a cambelt change should help.

How to change land rover freelander fan belt

You have to jack it up and remove the underboady engine cover. Lower the vehcile and open the hood remove the engine cover. Use the jack to support the engine for underneath. you'll need to remove or swing the top passenger side engine mount. back off the tensioner from the belt. Auto Zone, Advanced Auto rents a tool if needed. Now you can change your belt!

Freelander w reg. 1.8 petrol, 64,000 miles on clock. when do I need to change the timing belt

If you are asking about the actual TIMING BELT and not the serpentine belt, I would check with a dealership or a local garage. The Freelander has three (3), yes--3 timing belts:

front timing belt

left side rear timing belt

right side rear timing belt

Hope this helps!

Timing belt change

Hi ,
Good news it hasn`t got a belt it has a chain so providing you change the oil and filter regularly you shouldn`t need to change it.
